Prescription for Nutritional Healing, Fifth Edition: A Practical A-to-Z Reference to Drug-Free Remedies Using Vitamins, Minerals, Herbs & Food Supplements : Balch, Phyllis: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Everything you need. - Great informative book. Crammed full of valuable information. I refer to this a lot. Review: Five Stars - I have been using these books for years and have helped myself, family, friends, strangers and even given away as gifts. This is a great first point of reference book. You can find most illnesses and conditions. There is usually a brief introductions with useful categorization of Very Important, Important, Good etc. and a list of potential vitamin/mineral deficiencies to supplement - as well as what herbs maybe useful - followed by anything else that could be useful, like dietary exclusions/inclusions and other external things that might also be beneficial. This has acted as a first point of call and then I look into things further through the internet, further books/journals for reading and understanding.

good
This is a little old, but the info is still relevant and it is still useful for reference whilst studying. It help give a good picture of basic prescription medicine, supplements, diet, herbs and alternative methods together.

Lots of information to be found here - great addition to any health conscious person's library
Boy is this a big book and filled with lots of information on vitamins , minerals, herbs, natural food supplements, drug interactions and more. Table of contents is very clear and easy to work with. Each disorder/issue/dis-ease is clearly defined with numerous ways to address it , including "essential" vs "helpful" supplements. I'm very happy to have this in my library.

Useful book if you don't like doctors!
Bought for my son, who likes to mend himself wherever possible. All herbal or food based remedies, much of it like granny used to say, so pretty good.

Very extensive knowledge base of healing
I bought this book after I saw one that was given to a friend for her birthday. However, Amazon were not selling at such a competitive price and I ordered from a Supplier in Canada with a little anxiety. I needn't have worried the book was with me within a week. I think Amazon is now selling direct so even better if you want quicker. Lots of tips on the types of herbs and things that you should use for natural healing.

the best nutritional healing book I have ever read
all recommendations - essentials, important supplements, herbs, comments about a diet and lifestyle. Everything what you need to get better, speed up recovery. Fantastic to learn about nutrition, good for a practitioners, students, people working in a health care sector. We have been using one at work - health shop and I also decided to purchase one for a personal use.

Describes the latest what to do when.
Useful reference citing the latest research finding. The alphabetical order helps and is necessary. So far the book seems comprehensive and as I hoped would replace J.I. Rodale’s Vitamins and Minerals which was a ‘70 bible on the same theme and research.

Comprehensive book that covers a MULTITUDE of topics, this book should be in every home. You never know when you may need to "call" on it! Just over a year ago, a good friend of ours stopped by saying that his wife was very sick having been diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver. (She was nor is a drinker.) He was not expecting her to be on this earth for much longer. At that time someone had lent us an older version of this book for another situation. After our friend left we immediately looked up what this book had to say and got the information to our dying friend. That information literally SAVED her life! As she began to follow the directions of what not to eat etc. we began to see her health improve. She had got that she could not walk, was extremely thin and yes, looked like death was on her doorstep. Today, she is not 100% cured and unlikely to ever be so BUT she is walking, she has put on weight and more importantly is still very much alive. When asked about helping someone else with a different diagnosis we figured it was time to purchase this book for ourselves. For the money this book is PRICELESS! Pages and pages of information and helpful advice to set you back on your feet towards a healthy life. We purchased this book used. We were not required to write a review but chose to do so. Thanks, Liz

**"Nutritional Healing" by Phyllis A. Balch** is a comprehensive guide to using nutrition and dietary supplements for improving health and combating illness. The book is well-organized, covering a wide range of conditions and the nutrients that can help address them. It's a valuable resource for anyone interested in the therapeutic power of food and supplements, offering practical advice and extensive references. While it can be dense, its thorough approach makes it an essential reference for both beginners and seasoned health enthusiasts.

This version boasts that it is “totally revised and updated” and they’re not kidding. It is no longer a natural book, but full of pharmaceuticals advice. Do not buy!
