After buying the lindam safety gate and putting it up i thought we were good to go. How wrong i was, even though it was in place and seemed sturdy enough to me my 20mth old daughter and her little friend had other ideas and they could ram toys into the gate so it became loose. The problem was that the screws that hold the gate in place were just a fraction too short for them to be 100% secure which meant there was give in the gate. So i bought this extension to see if this would help, and it does. It comes in 3 pieces which are easily put together and clear instructions on what to remove from the gate to put the extension in place and then fit the removed parts into the new piece (It even comes with spare parts to attach to your wall if you need them). The whole process took 15 minutes from opening the box, removing the gate from the wall and putting it back in place, I am very happy that i bought it and i would recommend it.

I don't usually make product review as I most of the time get what I ordered as I expected. However, this product has different reviews and there's no way of knowing the truth than to see it for myself, so I ordered one for a lindam sure shut orto gate even though it says it's for a sure shut axis. For the benefit of others who have doubt about this product, I can say that it absolutely fits on a Lindam sure shut orto gate. I don't know why others say it doesn't, even on any lindam gate. Just one thing, it only fits one way, meaning there is top and bottom as the slots of the gate are not the same and it's easy to figure out which way the extension would fit. Hope this helps.

This helped me immensely since my gate sits in a 84cm opening and the gate itself is 74cm. It helped me position it (a bit snuggly) into the opening without needing to use wooden strips and most of the bolt to keep it up originally. It fit both my gates which I bought one from Tesco (named Securus) and the other from Aldi (named Porte). Just to make sure you know, in your actual gate it has plastic components that house the bolt, in order to use the extension take out the bolt component and slot it into the extension. It can only go one way also so the top and bottom are easy to distinguish with the jape of the bolt slots.

It fulfilled it's intended purpose, in as far as it extends my Lindam pressure fit safety gate. The gate has significant more 'flex' when my child pushes and pulls on it (which he does a lot - of course) when compared with the same gate fitted without this extender. As you can see from the image, the fitting between safety gate and extender isn't perfect. To it's credit it has held up well despite this apparent flaw. Fit this with care, and I doubt you'll experience any real issues.

We saved our Lindham stair gates to use for our second child. However in the meantime we moved house and they were no longer wide enough by about 5cm. We were going to buy new wider gates until I stumbled across these. They're easy to use and save money and waste if you already have gates that no longer fit. Our gates work exactly the same as they did before and you cant really tell the extension isnt part of the original gate. If you haven't already got stair gates, it might be cheaper to buy bigger ones instead of smaller ones and also have to pay for extensions. However if you already have gates and theyre too small now, this is the perfect solution.
