i have one of these & the float does not stop it filling, but somehow it stops when it gets to the overflow. Any ideas as to what's wrong? TIA

Sounds like you need to set the float level.

Yes, comprehensive instructions supplied. Came with short cable assy and so had to use the original one, wasn't too hard to do.

Does this need to attach to something downstream of it? There's what looks like a place to attach some kind of hose that goes out and into the cistern

Apart from the inlet at the base (threaded brass part) which is fed from the mains pipe there is no other attachment required. The cistern fills from water coming out the top of the unit until the level in the cistern is reached and cut off by the float valve...

Just fitted this and it doesn’t stop filling, i have set the float level but doesn’t shut off the valve, any ideas? Thanks

Lift the float manually, if it shuts off then you’re doing something wrong with the float setting. If it doesn’t shut off when you lift it manually then you have a faulty unit
