Please what could be the if the iron suddenly stop steam or steaming at interval?

Needs cleaning empty iron fill with cold clean water heat to ironing point then release and press trigger empty water viva steam rapidly cleaning holes

Hi - i just bought this iron and like it but i cant see the level of water when filling!! has anyone any tips to help with this?

I bought a cheap measuring jug and worked out the max fill then used a marker pen on the jug. It is a real pain not being able to see and I suppose the base line is to always fill the iron slowly! It gets through water at great speed.
