What is the RMS rating?

The RMS rating is the "continuous" wattage your speakers are rated for (or amp can put b out). Peak ratings are brief, high wattage use associated with very low notes (bass drum) and very high notes (cymbals). These notes and high wattage signals last only a second or so while the RMS watts are an average signal throughout an entire song.

Can this receiver power 3000Watts speakers?

Are the speakers rated 3000 watts RMS (continuous) or 3000 watts peak? These amps put out 3000 watts per side peak. I use them to run speakers rated at 1000 watts RMS (continuous) and 2500 watts peak and they do just fine. They may not power your speakers to rheir maximum volume but that's a good thing as speakers are more expensive to replace if you blow them up than it is to re I lace a an amp.
