This is a brilliant game - reviews by Liam Chew and Gemma say it all
Difficult to get to grips with, a bit like the mythical game show, Bambozzled, in Friends - but once you do it is great fun. However: it has brought out the worst in my whole family, so much so that we had to have a chat about gamesmanship (including mum), but we keep coming back for more and as we get to grips with the cards (and their meaning) it is getting faster and faster. It combines the best bits of board games and the best bits of card games with none of the long winded stuff. Good luck!

Nice game, box FAR too big
This is a nice family game, probably of most interest to those who've been skiing who will get the little jokes regarding ski school taking lift etc. The only thing we weren't keen on, game wise, was the cards where you have to physically move. Some might find this fun but it didn't do much for us. This review isn't so much about the game play though, as about the box. It's far, far too big for what's inside, a die and counters, a modest set of cards and the board. The board should fold into at least quarters (it only folds in half) and there should be a properly made to measure niche to hold the cards. As it is, they float loosely around in the box which is annoying. The reasons the box size should be reduced are both environmental and for practical storage. Also, this is the very game one might want to pack in a suitcase if you skiing, so compact is better! No enthusiastic boardgamer wants a box this size taking up so much space for no reason. The same makers could easily fit their excellent (!) 'Mapominoes' games into boxes half the size (we don't really need the egg-timers). See the new 'Scout' game produced by Oink Games for an idea of the way packaging should be going. Their box is roughly 11cm x 6.5cm x 3.5cm. It would fit in a pocket or small handbag. Lovely.

Great pressie for a skiing enthusiast
Bought for my 13 year olds birthday. He loves skiing so this was a great pressie idea.

Divorce on the cards, but that’s fine because I didn’t lose.
After graduating from Ski Run university with a bachelors degree to understand the rules, we made up our own at its great. Any game that tells you to refer to a second separate set of rules should honestly have a long look at itself in the mirror. Basically, there’s 2 cards we still don’t understand but we finished a game in a week and a half without using them so I don’t think overall they’re too important. My partners mum is still stuck in wipe out. It’s been 5 weeks. Her husband has ordered sky sports and is living the bachelor life. Secretly I think he knows how she can get out easily but there’s no way he’s going to remove that -6 card whilst she’s got to roll an 8 or above to move. Have I confused you? Welcome to Ski Run, you’re gonna hate it.

Complicated, needs easier instructions
very complicated to try and learn how to play, will need lots more time before we can start a game

Kept family amused over Christmas!
Rules do lack clarity in some areas however once you've had one run through of the game, it becomes easier to pick up and fill in the rules where it's not so clear. We soon realised the aim of the game is more to stop your opponents with the different trick cards than to focus on you advancing! Would recommend as the game constantly changes to keep it interesting and kept the family amused for hours over Christmas.

Best to play without some of the cards and help ...
Really enjoyable game but instructions are not that clear to start with. Best to play without some of the cards and help each other for the first few games. My daughter is 10, goes skiing and loves board games so perfect present for her!

Disappointingly complex…
We gave up on trying to complete a game because it seemed too convoluted. There are too many aspects to each person’s turn. The instructions gave assistance to how the game progressed after you start, but not about the initial move. Disappointing!

While confusing at first, we played a game with the basic cards first (as suggested in the instructions) until we got a feel for the cadence. After one or two rounds and getting through all the cards it was fine. My 8 year old is obsessed with skiing and he loves the game. It could probably use more Move cards and less of the ‘other’ cards but we have fun playing and the game is a reasonable length.

I found the directions of the game to be very confusing.

Tolles Spiel für die ganze Familie. Alles auf Englisch. Trotzdem perfekt für jeden, der eigentlich gerne in den Skiurlaub möchte. ;)
