Absolutely Fantastic!
The iClever Himbox is an absolutely fantastic product! The audio quality is fantastic and the inclusion of the three buttons (multi-function and skip forward and back) onto the control and mic unit works very well and makes changing tracks whilst driving much easier that when using a standard AUX cable. The sound quality of the output from this device is fantastic, especially considering it is being passed over bluetooth, and the delay from pressing play (or the multifunction button) and actually hearing music is minimal. The unit interrupts music when you receive a call and it's again very handy to be able to accept it with just a single press. This is made even better by the fact the magnetic plate allows you to position the device very close to where your hands would be on the steering wheel. I was even able to hide the cables within my cars trim! The call quality is also much better than other handsfree solutions I have tried (excluding headsets). People on the other end do sometimes complain that it is difficult to hear me, especially when driving at high speeds, but this is to be expected I suppose. I actually purchased this after having tried the Belkin equivalent, which I must say was absolutely abysmal. If you are considering purchasing this product my review is available here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/customer-reviews/RRFGJN36SH8QT/ref=cm_cr_pr_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B004FNYQZ8. This product doesn't even compare! My only complaint would be that as my car socket is always on (i.e. power remains even when the key is removed from the ignition) that the auto connect feature doesn't work properly for me. If I move further than about 10 meters from my car, my phone disconnects and doesn't connect automatically upon my return. However I have been able to work around this issue by simply pulling the power adaptor out of the socket just enough to stop power running to it, which has the effect of turning the unit off. That way, when I return to the car, all I have to do is push the adaptor in and the unit turns on and connects automatically to my device. Bottom line: If you are considering purchasing an item such as this, I would save time looking around and just buy this one! It's a great little unit!

What a great little device this is
What a great little device this is ! I previously owned a 2005 BMW 5 series which had no auxiliary input and the only solution for me was to spend £350 having a Dension blue-tooth kit fitted in into the fibre optic audio system in order for me to be able to stream music to the stereo. Having ditched the BMW for a Range Rover Sport 2007 I was looking for a solution to the same problem as the RR does not do music blue-tooth connection. I found the Himbox and read the reviews and as the RR has an auxiliary input at the rear of the centre console I figured for under £25 I would give this a whirl. My one concern was whether the lead would be long enough for me to actually mount the control "pebble" on the dash. I plugged it all in which to all of 5 seconds, started up the car, paired to my phone in no time at all and away I went happily streaming my tunes. Another concern I had was whether there was going to be engine interference due to this type of connection (aux) and if there was going to be that annoying electrical "whizz" as the engine change revs coming over the speakers. While there is a minor amount of white noise when no music is playing (very minimal) it does not change pitch and there is none during music playback. Talking of music playback the audio quality is just great. The "pebble" auto connects each time I start the car up and if blue-tooth is already turned on on the phone I get a satisfying "Your device is connected" from a very soothing, non robotic, female voice. The pebble glows a steady muted blue colour when connected which is not glaring at all at night. After having the kit fitted for a little while just hanging loose in the car I decided to try and fit it properly for a neat fit. I am glad to say that, for my car anyway, the lead was just about long enough for me to hide the cable in the trim along the centre and upper console and mount the control pebble on the dash. I've made a couple of calls using the Himbox and those I have spoken to have said that the audio is very clear and multiple people speaking within the car at the same time can be heard without problem with no echo or other issues reported. In closing, for under £25 this is a great, inexpensive solution to my problem and the addition of 2x extra USB ports in the supplied charger for people in the rear of the car to use is a bonus. This product is well worth a punt.

Good product but the microphone could be better.
The bluetooth connection is good for one device, it is ok for two devices, but seems giving some glitches while playing the music if there is a second phone connected. The quality of the music is good and also the audio while you use this for a phone call, but the microphone culd be made better. I have installed it at the centre of the cockpit between me and the passenger and is about my shoulder or just a bit lower. If I’m talking, the people get a lot of noise coming from the car (I think) and I have to talk very loud. A part of that, it is easy to install, because the good length of the cables and because of the sticky pad provided for the miceophone. The “step forward” and “step backwards” and also the Play and Pause buttons are working great for my iphone7.

Problem with the power on of the device after switch on the engine of my car
Hello, the bluetooth device working fine with very good sound quality. i connected two devices at the same time and working fine. But i give the one star because there is a big problem with the power on of the device. When you plug the charger for the first time everything is working perfect, but when you switch off the engine of the car and after a while you turn it on again nothing happens (the device is off). Then you have to unplug the usb cable and plug it again or to unplug the charger and plug it again. It is not a problem of the charger because every other device that i conect to it working perfect after power on the engine. It is not a problem of the outlet because my car (VW TIGUAN) has a lot of outlets and all of them do the same thing. I am thinking to give it buck. It is very shame because the feature of streaming music and making calls is great but if i have every time that i switch on the engine to open the closed cabinet and unplug and plug again the usb power cable its rabish.....

Worked great, for a while...
My original review: I have a 2013 Astra with no Bluetooth functionality. I researched many devices, including visor kits, FM transmitters and finally devices such as this one, with the AUX IN functionality. Simply put, this device just works. I found a great little spot very close to the 12V socket to mount the magnetic base. Once plugged in to both the power and AUX IN sockets the initial set up begins. The device tells you that it is in pairing mode, and when the phone is connected / disconnected. The automatic connection when the power is switched on is almost instantaneous. Sound quality from music is perfect, as you'd expect (you're just connecting your phone to your car speakers). Call quality is crystal clear in the car. On the other end, the caller has heard some echo, but turning down the car speaker volume reduced this, while I was still able to clearly hear the caller. I can activate the voice recognition (Google), and the other stated functions do just what is advertised. I have had no feedback noise whatsoever (to compare with other reviews). I have used every function available with this device except dual device connections. All in all, I can find no fault or negative point to note. It has added Bluetooth functionality to my car for only £23.99. Bargain. EDIT: less than one year, and the device is broken. The large button no longer works, rendering the device useless. I can manually play music through it from my phone, but the 12V adaptor is also faulty now. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. In summary, it wasn't cheap enough to accept that it would last just 11 months. If I pay £24 for something like this, I expect it to last for years. Beware.

This is a fantastic little item which is great quality and extremely cheap
This is a fantastic little item which is great quality and extremely cheap. I have a BMW 3 series which although it has bluetooth was limited to calls and so unable to play music via bluetooth, after searching for a while on possible solutions I stumbled upon this little device which seemed able to achieve what I wanted for an extremely cheap price but I was skeptical at first due to previous reviews but I ordered it anyway. There are a few devices on Amazon and elsewhere which look similar but do not have the same features or have one caveat or another, this device is literally plug and play, simply plug the USB into a a car charger/USB port and the 3.5mm jack into an AUX port make the initial connection and it's done, extremely seamless. This device turns on as soon as it receives power so no need to mess around with fiddly buttons every time you turn your car on and greets you with a welcoming voice stating when the device has been connecting (this is actually not annoying unlike other devices!). The three port charger is of a high quality aluminium finish with chamfered edges and the device has a nice premium feel with a type of slight rubber coating. Included is a magnetic holder with 3M adhesive adhered to the back and also a clip on magnetic holder so you have countless places to put the device and it is easily hidden or moved when needed. The call qaulity is also great I have yet to have someone complain about it! As a side note if you currently have bluetooth calling within your vehicle my phone was able to connect to both the cars bluetooth and this bluetooth device and calls came though the cars infotainment system as usual and music played back to this bluetooth device essentialy just adding music playback to the vehicle but as noted this could be mobile device specific. Also in regards to a previous reviewer stating that this devices is poorly grounded and that it causes interference is completely not true. The power source provided to the device does need to be correctly grounded but the provide car charger already achieves this as it is grounded to the vehicle! The only reason I can see as to why you suffered from interference would be from however you were powering the Himbox, ie a tapped wire, a 12v to 5v converter, etc. I ahve tested this myself with an ungrounded power supply and yes there was interference but this would not be the case if it was simply connected to a standard 12v car charger. My overall verdict on this item is for the price and quality you seriously cannot go wrong.

Well at least it was cheap.
This was a pretty cheap way to get BT connectivity and I guess you get what you pay for. Installation was easy and so was pairing it with my phone. Sadly... This is pretty much the end of the good things I have to say. It's borderline useless for phonecalls. For you in the car, the volume is ridiculously low (much lower than music playback from the same phone), so you have to really crank up the volume - and then you really crank up the noise as well (more on that in a second). For the person on the other end of the call, things get much worse. The microphone leaves a lot to be desired and there is no noise reduction or echo cancellation, so you get to hear a badly distorted, noisy echo of yourself when talking to someone using this car kit. Oh the noise. When plugged into the power supply, this kit will pick up every single bit of DC noise and noise from the alternator if the engine is running. I tried several different 12V to 5V power supplies and all were bad with this kit. Prepare for A LOT of noise. Adding a 3rd-party ground loop isolator takes out most of it, but also hurts the audio quality, making your music sound compressed. All in all, this kit is okay if you need something cheap that's easy to move between cars, but as a permanent solution I wouldn't recommend it, sorry.

Delighted, Just What I Was Looking For
To start, I have a 08 Ford Focus C-Max, with a stock head unit, the car has a aux and of course a 12v socket. So was in the market to add Bluetooth for calls and maybe music, the first product that caught my eye was a Belkin AutoConnect Aux(I think that's what it was called) priced at £59, Maplin's stock them, but not in stock at my local store then saw one on eBay and that also was out of stock?!? Next stop Amazon, a Anker one caught my eye as I have Anker phone cables and plugs and have been pleased with them, but underneath that was the iClever Himbox... read the reviews and ordered, delivery was earlier than stated(thumbs up) nice easy to open packaging, the first thing I noticed was how small the HIMBOX is, but that's a good thing, discreet!! Included is a 3 USB in car charger, one labelled for the HIMBOX and x2 spares for phones, sat nav etc. I went with the magnetic clip instead of the sticky magnetic base, as I didn't fancy having it stuck to my dash, I managed to clip it onto my air vent(see picture) From opening the box to first use was about 2 minutes, simple to set up, aux jack to aux in, charger into 12v socket, Bluetooth turned on picked up HIMBOX connected, once connected there was a female voice saying, "device connected" nice touch. Streaming the music, the quality is brilliant I have a iPhone 6 which doesn't have apt-X but the quality is a lot better than the wired aux I had before. Yes when it's on and there is no music I did get a little white noise but nothing as bad as some other reviewers have mentioned. Calls, used a handful of times, callers have mentioned a little echo but nothing to bad for them to hang up and at my end it's crystal clear. Double tap the main button, will redial the last number, very handy. One complaint would be when it starts a new track there is a slight skip but I can live with that. Overall, I'm delighted with the HIMBOX and at a lot less money than the Belkin and quicker than expected delivery, I'm a happy customer.
