Japanese Quality
Very good Japanese quality. Nice smooth barrel to grip . Nib very smooth for writing and drawing once you accustom to it. For drawing you can change between very thin lines to very thick lines in an instant.

Very Good Pen!
I love the variation you get from fude nib pens. I’ve watched Paul Heaston use this pen for a while now on Instagram and his drawings are sensational! It’s very reasonably priced for the quality. Ink flow is consistent, I’m using DeAtrimentis at present. I can draw with the pen upside down for very fine lines with little flow issues which is great. Traditional look to it, shame it’s plastic but it can’t be perfect, but that helps to keep it light, it has a gold nib (assume it’s not real gold of course). I’d highly recommend getting this for sketching with, see example picture that I did. It’s great for Urban Sketching.

Cost of cartridges or converter a little high.
This is a BIG pen - must be virtually the largest in my sizeable collection. The cap is quite small, so it doesn't lose much length when uncapped. I like fude nibs. Very handy for highlighting / underlining with the normal side of the nib on the paper and a useful fine nib capability for notes by rolling the pen on its back. Just needs ink that is deep enough to read the notes without making the highlighted bits illegible. I found a forgotten bottle of Atramentis "whisky" (INK!) just right (and smells good when wet). There was just a slight tendency to fuzzy edges when highlighting in books - a function of the paper, not a problem with the pen. The fine writing with the back of the nib was - well - fine! There is no clip, but a Kaweco one would fit with a slight squeeze if you want one - it is a bit too long for my shirt pocket anyway. I don't like leaving an inked pen laying flat - they function much better if stored vertically with the nib uppermost. I had one of those springy clips they sell for clipping pens and other things onto nurses' uniforms, so mounted that on the side of my monitor stand and away we go - the tapered end of the pen slides easily into the spring, keeping it ready for use. Do I like it? Yes, it is a good pen. Anything I would like to improve it? Yes - supply a converter with it. Sailor pens do not seem to be compatible with any other brand, so you are either tied into their cartridges or need an expensive converter. Whilst these are good in the context of the more expensive regular Sailor pens, they are a bit out of proportion costwise with cheaper pens like this one - hence marked down a star.

Favourite Pen - 55 degree nib
Using ink pens for daily writing, this pen is beautiful to write with. Ink flow is consistent onto the 55 degree nib, so once you work out the angle of contact with the paper, the results are excellent. This pen is now my favourite and beats the Lamy range…which are also great ….

Brilliant!
I saw the Sailor Fude mentioned on social media a lot lately as an excellent fountain pen for sketching. It’s usually best not to believe the hype, but at £13 I felt it was a risk I could take. I’m seriously impressed with the Sailor Fude. The nib is very smooth and the ink flows well. I’m left-handed so this can be a bit of an issue. It’s designed to work like a brush, so the width of the stroke varies depending on the angle the pen is held and will take a bit of getting used to. I’ll probably order another so I can have a couple of ink colours on the go at the same time. Full marks from me, highly recommended.

excellent pen
it is an excellent instrument for the price. the nib is smooth and flexible, shines with good quality black ink. I can imagine its as good for drawing as it is for your copperplate or round hand. it doesn’t take a standard ink cartridge and sailor cartridges are expensive so I recommend purchasing a dedicated sailor converter. The body is plastic but doesn’t feel cheap. definitely love the colour. Overall a great instrument, excellent performer, and Made in Japan !

Disappointing for me unfortunately
I may have got a faulty one. Ink won’t flow consistently. Not able to make fine lines no matter the way I use it. Disappointing for me
