Worked really well. Easy and no more ants.
I've used Nippon for years in different forms but this was a new one for me. We had lots of ants living under the brick paved drive, they kept leaving mess under pots and at the edge by a wall. I didn't like the idea of spreading white powder around the drive so thought I would try this. You just throw a sachet into the watering can, fill full of water and wait for it to disolve, or give it a stir. I didn't have anything to stir it with so I just left it for 5 minutes then topped it up from the tap thinking this would mix it more ?? It seemed to work fine as the sachet had nearly disappeared. Then it is just a matter of watering the drive in the areas that are a problem. That was it no more ants and a spare sachet. I wish all unwanted guests were that easy to get rid of!

at last something that works
For many years our bungalow and garden has been plagued by ants, they tunnel under the concrete floor, come out of the skirtings and have completely colonised our main lawn with over 250 red ant nests in a 100sq m area. Over the years we have tried all the various powders and sprays with varying degrees of success. Inside we are winning the battle finally but until now we had not found anything that was effective on lawns. We tried treating (quite expensively) all the lawns with nematodes which were supposed to kill off the nests and despite following the instructions to the letter there were even more nests at the end of the season than before we started. I used this Nippon soluble ant killer in a garden sprayer and treated the lawn according to instructions. 3 months after this treatment there are now only 30 nests in the lawn, (down from the pre-treatment 250) and most of these are quite small so I am hopeful that a further dose will rid us of the pests. I gave the product 4 stars because it worked well and is cost effective, but to get 5 it would have had to get rid of all the ants instantly. I will definitely keep a pack in the cupboard to deal with any future outbreaks as its the best thing I have found for killing ants nests in lawns.

Great for houses and pathways.
Totally useless on the lawn, even when I put it into little pieces of tin foil the ants ignored it...however, the little critters that invade your house and surrounding footpaths eat this Nippon readily, they gather round it like parched animals at a watering hole, then take it back home, and it kills them all. Woo-hay! So, horses for courses, on your lawn use ant-killing powder instead. Elsewhere, this stuff is terrific. Steve Riches, Northampton, UK.

NOT FOR LAWNS!
bought this in the hope that it would get rid of the little ant hills that have appeared all over me new lawn. it didn't work. (it didn't kill the grass either which is a bonus!) It did however work on the Patio slabbed area. To be fair on the package it does say for hard surfaces - but this isn't made clear on Amazon description - so take care. a point to note - getting rid of the little ant hills - Liberally cover them in ant killing POWDER on a dry day. give it 24 hours and the buggers are gone. little bit of washing away the powder,. stamp down the mound and apply a bit of grass patch magic or the like to help re-seed.

This is working
I have never worried too much about ants in the garden until I was bitten this year when I disturbed a nest and suffered a severe allergic reaction. For the first time we had ants nests in the lawn, as well as in the borders and under the paving. I bought this product and we watered it onto the ant hills in the lawn and paving and it has dramatically reduced the numbers of ants around. Beware though, the warning that it is harmful to fish is correct so be very careful that there is no spray drift into your fishpond!

This product does not work on lawns and should not be advertised as such. The product was applied by watering can but has had no visible effect on ants below the lawn turf. Also, Vitax have not replied to my product query and the seller has shown no interest in offering a refund. Amazon have refunded the purchase price under their A-Z guarantee but the misleading advertising that the product works on lawns remains.

After suffering annual attacks of lawn ant nests, this year I tried a single sachet of this product diluted as per instructions into a watering can. Just one application destroyed 16 nests within 24 hrs. In the past they have always moved a couple of feet and started again. This time it has been weeks and their have been no further incidents. Trouble is, I bought 2 x Twin packs and ended up with three quarters left !!
