Fabric Block Printing Ink, 2.5 oz, Black, Non-Toxic Water-Miscible, No Heat Setting Required, Made in USA

This is my favorite block printing paint. It doesnt need to be heat treated and it is super durable! This size works well for a several yard project.

I was looking for ink to use on a canvas tote bag that wouldn't wash off or ruin whatever it was washed with. I also wanted it to stand up to daily use. I bought this based on recommendations from other printmaking sites, and I'm so glad I did. The pigment was perfect and the ink was so smooth. It felt like regular printmaking ink. I waited the 2 weeks or so to cure it before washing it, and it didn't bleed, fade, or wash out. There was no transfer to other fabrics, and the print looked exactly like it did before washing it. I will say that I was feeling very impatient waiting for it to cure because I wanted to test it out in the washer before finishing the other totes. Now, I use this ink for any cloth I print on. I will definitely buy this again!

This ink is great and incredibly opaque. Since it’s pretty much the only opaque white option for linocut on fabric I’m not gonna give it too much of a hard time but I do wish it stayed wetter longer. It dries quite quickly and becomes difficult to use. I have had to get a toothbrush to clean it out of my Lino blocks because it gets caught in the tiny crevices and won’t come off without a good brushing. I might be too used to using water based inks so take that into consideration when reading my review. It works best with 100% cotton or linen with no stretch element but gets the job done on stretch fabric with only a little greying. I almost exclusively print on black with white ink so I use this product constantly and my biggest complaint is the smell. If you’re used to oil painting it smells similar to oil paint which isn’t terrible but definitely leave your windows open when printing.

Been using this kind of ink. Pretty standard, good price-point. I’ve had a few things wash out, so keep an eye on fabric types and if it needs prep. Usually a little on the splotchy side on fabric, though I admit fabric isnt my favorite to print on. I mostly use it for regular prints—Rolls smooth and prints fine. Best probably for beginner to intermediate level. If i continue I’ll likely start trying more quality inks.

Works great! Definitely recommend I did some printing on clothing and this Ink has held up for over a year and sooooo many washes!

I’ve been very impressed with this block printing fabric ink. Easy to apply, and transfers beautifully onto fabric. The colors come out rich and vibrant, holding up well after washing without significant fading. It dries at a reasonable pace, which makes it easy to work with for both beginners and experienced printers.

Great paint for block printing, easy to use and nice and thick

This color I'd say is closer to a rose thank magenta, so it wasn't exactly what I was wanting, though it got m in the ballpark, I guess. Still a let down. It was also thick, like milkshake thick. So I don't think this tube will be good for too much longer. Because of this it was a little tougher to get onto the stamp and the results were very clumpy. I think I just need to stop buying ink off Amazon, even if it is cheaper here than going to Blick. I've ordered probably 7 or 8 tubes of ink and I've had problems with maybe 4 of them. I will say, though, that the customer service from Speedball is awesome.
