great affordable keyboard
Iโve been using the TECKNET Mechanical Gaming Keyboard for a while now, and itโs been fantastic! The keys feel really responsive and satisfying to press, which makes gaming and typing super smooth. Itโs held up great over time with no issues, and the build quality feels solid and durable. I also love the design โ it looks sleek and fits well on my desk without taking up too much space. The backlighting is a nice touch, adding some style and helping me see the keys clearly in low light. Overall, this keyboard works great for both gaming and everyday use. Definitely worth the 5 stars from me!

A Keyboard worth EVERY cent you spend on it. An absolute BARGAIN at the price.
THIS KEYBOARD DESERVES A FIVE STAR REVIEW If in a hurry, see addendum posted 4 November 2017 in the bottom of this review. A bit of background as to why I decided to give this a 5 star rating might help, so take a minute and read on. I date back to the days of the first IBM PC's. As the older folks amongst you might know, those PC's came with beautifully made mechanical keyboards, or to be more accurate, the keyswitch mechanism was mechanical.. Those keyboards were made in IBM's big plant in Greenock (Scotland), where I spend many many days. Especially the IBM AT PC's had a fabulous keyboard, so much so that people often hooked that keyboard up to different makes of PC's, that keyboard was so dammed good. The IBM PC is no more, long gone and nowadays we live in the days of cheap and cheerful throw away stuff, and that includes keyboards, with their soft "spongy and rubbery" feel.. Not so this TeckNet Arctrix Mechanical gaming keyboard. Hold on for minute... I do NOT play games, at 71 years old, I have many other interests and gaming is certainly not one of them. A few years ago Chillblast UK build a bespoke PC for me and I splashed out and ordered a VERY EXPENSIVE Cm Storm Quickfire mechanical keyboard. Those keyboards, made by Cooler Master, are not cheap, but I venture to say that even that keyboard was still beaten by the IBM AT PC Keyboard qua feel. Enter the TechNet Keyboard which I bought from Amazon recently as the CM Storm had died due to the abuse given to it by my ten cats. . As I am still a wee bit biased after all those years, I would still go for the IBM, qua mechanical feel, but in every other aspect the ARCTRIX is just as good, if not better. Beautifully backlit, with back light intensity that can be adjusted to your liking. Nice fold-out feet, if that is yr wish, a good solid feel ands a nice numeric keypad to boot and as you would expect a nice decent braided cable. Let me state again, I bought this keyboard for typing on, often at night and decent backlighting is an ABSOLUTE must for me. This keyboard offers plenty options for you die hard gamers out there, but I can't comment on those as I do not game, but if they are as good as the keyboard itself, I am sure you will be pleased and find just what you need. (BTW, if fancy moving light patterns take yr fancy, yes this bloody keyboard does 'em too, but they are well and truly wasted on me, I'm too old for a fancy light organ ! Oops... almost forgot. UK layout, with the ยฃ key where you want it. And another nice feature ? The backlight after a while switches off, but reactivates the very second you touch any key. that's a really nice feature... i think. In summary, after two weeks of hammering these beautifully backlighted keys, I have zero hesitation in rating this keyboard with a 5 start rating. While I did not use their technical support line, I am told it is excellent and they show a real and genuine interest in their customers. All in All, go for it. I am sure that this is one purchase you will never regret. This is a genuine purchase and not a freebie review as there seem to be more and more these days on Amazon. Albert ADDENDUM to above review. 23 July 2016 I've now hammered away on this keyboard for a good month. In my opinion, the test and crucial question on a purchase is very simple: Knowing what you know now, WOULD YOU BUY IT AGAIN ? The answer is a resounding YES. So much so, I bought a second one and gave it to a friend who is equllay delighted with this keyboard. You just cannot go wrong with this one. ADDENDUM 4 NOVEMBER 2017 Remain absolutely delighted with this keyboard, after it having been subjected to abuse by my ten (10) resident cats. Previously much more expensive keyboards died well within the year but this baby keeps on going ! Cannot recommend this keyboard highly enough. Albert Albert

Seems decent enough!
Feels fairly solid (although feels that it is entirely plastic rather than metal like more expensive alternatives), works a treat in linux (even the multimedia shortcuts), and the volume of the keys in operation is notable (compared to say a laptop-style "chiclet" keyboard) but not obnoxiously loud... however your colleagues at the office would probably be a bit annoyed at having to sit next to you for 8 hours though if you were to use this in an office scenario. It feels nice (so far) to type on this ... time will tell if I end up getting huge fatigue and RSI from the extended key travel compared to chiclet laptop style keyboards. The LED lighting is of course pretty lame, but the good news is that this needs no drivers and you can turn off the lighting effects entirely just using a few key combinations. Once the lighting effects are off the keyboard is a fairly subtle discrete thing. I personally would have preferred they used a normal font for the keycaps rather than the "cool"/"gamer" font they used, but that really is nit picking. For those that care, the switches are blue in colour. I have no idea if they are the same as "blue switches" in other mechanical keyboards when it comes to feel and noise.

Great value RGB mechanical keyboard for the price.
I guess the most important factor in any keyboard is how the keys feel to the user and this Tecknet keyboard feels nice and responsive with a good level of feedback. The 'click' is actuated with very little pressure so the keyboard never becomes tiring to use. I don't know if this is a property of the blue switches used but despite the light pressure required I never found myself hitting keys accidentally. At least no more so that my 16 year old Dell membrane keyboard. The RGB functions are enabled via the Function key combined with various other key presses mostly the INS key to switch between modes. Some are obviously just for show but others have specific gaming uses such as lighting the ASWD keys and/or some others nearby. There is a programmable mode as well that allows you to record which keys you would like to be illuminated which can then be saved as a preset. The key backlighting is fixed for each row on the keyboard moving from blue for the top row through red, orange, green, and purple and finally white at the bottom. For gaming use I spent my first afternoon with the keyboard playing Fortnite Battle Royale and had no trouble getting a Victory Royale after a few games. It is impossible to say if they keyboard helps me game any better or get more 'dubs' but so far I was able to swap out my old keyboard and not have to spend any time 'getting used' to this new mechanical one. The keyboard has made a good initial first impression. For the price it is a great first mechanical gaming keyboard because I have seen keyboards for 4 or 5 times the price of this one in comparison.

Very affordable, superb quality Blue mech board
[WARNING: 2022 - PLEASE READ BELOW UPDATE] TeckNet has since changed the model of this keyboard, and are no longer selling the Arctrix X10707. This appears to be a worse keyboard than the original, but very similar, so who knows, it might be okay. Just be aware they have changed out the model, but retained the listing page for the old one. [ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW, FOR MODEL WITH SKU "X10707" - SOMETIMES MISSPELLED X70707] I bought this board to replace my old A4Tech B314 (rubber membrane / LK-switch) board. After using it for quite a while now, I can safely say I am very happy with the Arctrix and would recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap, but good mechanical keyboard with backlighting (this is important, as it is backlit - not RGB. Pre-installed patterns can be used). So, the pros: + Super cheap. Wayyy cheaper than Razer stuff. Of course, it's not 100% the same quality, but at 30% the price you get 80% of an expensive board. + Backlit! There are a couple of patterns ("ripple", "on-press", "all off", "all on", "wave", etc) however it is worth saying they can only set 0-100% how any key is dimmed. You can manually dim any key to 0 or 100% etc however you can NOT change it's colour. + Super clicky and loud Outemu switches. Of course, for some this may be a cons. But then, why are you looking at Blue-switch boards? These Outemus are definitely even louder and clickier than Cherry MX ones. + Extremely heavy for a keyboard : I see this as a pro - it means it doesn't slide. The keycaps themselves etc weigh nothing but the base is an absolute h u n k of metal that keeps it in place. + Comes with a keycap removal tool, kept on the bottom of the board. + Nice braided USB-A cable + Cable comes with a nice little "cover flap" for the USB-A end + Another cable thing : the underside has 3 different cable management slots for it to exit out of ! And so, the cons: + The backlighting has a slightly low refresh rate : what this means is, is SOMETIMES (not always, only if you look very hard in specific lighting conditions) you will just about be able to see it refreshing the backlight. This effect can be exaggerated by looking through a phone camera. I consider it fine for normal use however. + The keycaps could be a little sturdier : maybe it's just me but the keycaps are a little wobbly. Nothing terrible of course, I wouldn't even consider this something to think about if you want to buy. + No RGB : Given in the name - but for the price, does one care? How's the typing? Great. To put it simply, it's ergonomic, smooth, easy and satisfying to type on. For far less than a "gaming keyboard" of eSports caliber. I strongly recommend this board to anyone who is looking for a cheap keyboard for gaming, typing or any other purpose (aside from office use... youch those Blue switches) on a budget. Considering getting another if it ever even breaks.

Number and control keys are confusingly part of the main keyboard
I liked the quality feel of this keyboard and the noise level but the numbers and other control keys on the right were part of the main keyboard with no gaps between. I was finding that I was pressing them in error as they felt part of my keys. Now tried another ergonomic one which I am keeping despite it being a noisy space bar.Number adn cotrol keysa re

Cheap and most definitely cheerful....
I am writing this review using the keyboard and I'm most impressed with it so far. I paid around ยฃ21 for it, normally seeing it on sale for around ยฃ30. Whilst it was exceptional value at the price I paid I would have been more than happy if I had paid full price. The key movements are very positive in their feel, not sticky nor offering too much resistance when typing, there are no annoying clicks when using it.. The size of the keyboard allows for good key spacing and the clarity of what is written on each key, as well as allowing the blue light to be seen through those markings, just helps when looking for keys. The various controls over the brightness and settings for the blue light, no changing of colour, has made it comfortable to use in bright light or dim surroundings. The keyboard has a very solid feel to it, the build quality is very good and the it certainly seems heavy. As my primary reason for buying this was the keyboard I can say that the mouse was a bonus. I already use a Logitech G502 mouse on my main PC and so the mouse which was bundled has gone to an HTPC, where it will be used rarely. The mouse does not have the same feel of robustness but seems positive enough on movement and control, all the features you would expect from an optical mouse with scroll wheel etc. As I expected I might prefer the Logitech but then again that mouse alone cost three times more than I paid for this keyboard and mouse. I would find it difficult to be critical of this keyboard, all the functionality is there, including media control, and the mechanical keys are a joy to use. Excellent packaging and good contact from customer support asking if I am happy with my purchase. A thumbs up from me :)

Perfect!
Big enough to make in-office days easier but small enough to fit in my backpack. I also love how long the charge lasts!

Works great!
The keyboard on my laptop is not working correctly and I don't have the time to put it in for repair, so I bought this one. It works great, but it times out a little fast and I have to wake it up a lot. I just set it on top of the laptop keyboard and type away.

Great battery life.
It works well and has a very long battery life. I do wish I could make the function keys stay on by default, but it's a minor issue.
