The marble-effect round paddle is decent value for just over 4quid. It's very large so before you buy it I advise definitely considering where you'd store it. It's a good size for a large family or for a dinner party or buffet with guests. If you use it as an oversize cheese board it's a good idea to avoid cutting directly on the surface. It has some weight to it so it doesn't feel insubstantial, but handily it's not as heavy as marble. If you put it in the fridge for a while before use, it comes out feeling as cold as marble, which is handy for, say, delicatessen items. The surface has a rippled or wavy feel so it's not entirely flat anywhere, and I don't know if that's deliberate or if I got a rogue one. From the advertising I was expecting a flat finish. It's not immediately obvious to the eye, but is if you move the board so as to catch the light. You notice the unevenness at once if you feel the board. It doesn't stop the board being used.I also bought the version that's a small rectangular paddle - Colour: Wooden Effect | Style Name: Small Paddle (25.5 x 12.5 cm) - and that really looks and feels the biz, 5 stars, and it's great value for 4quid, but take note of the advertising as it's very small and really is only for small portions such as a small entree or a small item in a larger buffet.
