Plein Air Techniques for Artists: Principles and Methods for Painting in Natural Light (Volume 8)

This book i use as a reference. A great addition to my art library. Lots of great technics and color illustrations to go with so you understand exactly what is being shown. Now your not going to use every suggestion, but it give lots of great ideas . Illustrations on every page.

I absolutely love this book! It’s a well written book and explains difficult concepts in such an accessible way. I felt like I was taking a workshop with each chapter and the exercises were so helpful. The color spot study was fun and gave me a new way to see things. I’ve already learned so much from it about painting in general and about plein air painting. It’s helping me move to the next level. I will read it multiple times and I believe I’ll learn more each time. Plus the artwork in it is so helpful to visualize each concept. I appreciate that there are different artist examples to learn from as well as the beautiful paintings of the author. I’m so glad I have this book and I highly recommend it.

I bought this book a while ago and love it so much! Have you ever wondered "How did that artist do that?" This book has a wealth of exercises that will change the way you look at color, as well as show you how to paint a wide variety of atmosphere phenomena and "special effects" including glow, backlighting, and transmitted light. And so much more. I find myself turning to it again and again, you can spiral back to a section a year later and find new things to learn building on the first encounter. It's elegantly written, similar to the style in which the author paints. Absolutely beautiful! (PS writing this from amazon account in my husband's name)

Aimee shares several valuable tips and lessons. Excellent resource for the artist.

Another absolutely stunning art book. The practices in this book are utterly unique and amazing and the artists she portrayed are wonderful examples. I have not seen someone really break down the elements of painting plein air like she did. One of my top 10 art books in the studio.
