Zinsser Bin Brush Cleaner and Restorer 1Ltr

I saw the price and almost dismissed it until I saw a review proclaiming "This is the best brush cleaner in the world!" I can honestly say I have thrown away some of my best brushes because they just wouldn't come clean with ordinary brush cleaner, and so I took a deep breath and bought it. My risk was well taken and the person that posted that review deserves a high five! It is the best Ive tried! It cleaned up a primer filled paintbrush after I forget to bring it home to clean for 48 hours! Amazing product! No leak container, not much smell to it, rub into paintbrush and then rinse with warm water. Its going to save me so many paintbrushes! Worth the extra cost to save on the brushes! Fab!

DIY user who is very impressed with all the Zinsser products. We have stopped buying other stuff as Zinsser works out less expensive than the alternatives when comparing £ cost/coverage/drying time/results and cleanup time & result. Unfortunately I am not sponsored by them... Used on Harris and Coral synthetic bristle brushes with hard, water based paint residue that had not been properly cleaned out with other brush cleaners and hot water/detergent soaking. A 20 minute dip in Zinsser brush cleaner, a quick scrub down with a kitchen pan cleaning brush and rinse under warm water cleaned the bristles and ferrules to 99% "as new". Sorted. The residue cleaner can be used again if stored in an airtight pot (3" wide plastic screw top vitamin pot) and does not have much of an odour (when compared to traditional cleaners). My stash of half used brush cleaners are now going to the tip for appropriate/safe disposal as I can now rely on Zinsser to restore my old brushes.

Great product. Powers through Zinsser BIN even when dried. Also handles most other paints with ease. I have however found one or two paints it wouldn't dissolve once dried. It was either Zinsser Permawhite Matt or Dulux Trade Gloss. Not sure why it couldnt tackle those, but I'll have to remember which ones it is and make sure I dont leave brushes to harden

I purchased this product for cleaning some 'rock hard' paint brushes. I had three really good brushes that I use for painting furniture and did not want to throw them out as they were not cheap ones. I had tried several other products that did not work at all. My brushes had been left to soak in these other products for several weeks to no avail. No softness achieved at all. I thought I would try this Zinsser BIN Brush Cleaner and Restorer as my last choice before probably having to throw my brushes away. I soaked the 3 brushes for approximately 4 hours and I could not believe it that my rock hard brushes were then like new ones. I took the brushes out of the fluid and gave them another clean with Fairy Liquid and hey presto - I had got my brushes back to being beautiful and soft again. This product is very highly recommended by me. I think it is an excellent product and does what it says and certainly brings back to life 'hard as rock' brushes.

Great for cleaning the brushes

I’ve used this on various brushes that have been used for different types of paint and it cleans them up really good every time. Even managed to rescue a brush that had gone hard in oil based gloss, had to soak the brush for about 24 hours then wash out under the tap with some washing up liquid and the brush is almost like new, if you have expensive brushes then this is worth it to help look after them

I am using Zinsser Shelac undercoat to paint the ugly veneer floors in my flat. The undercoat sticks to anything and so you need this cleaner to clean the brushes. It works well, it works quickly and does not smell bad at all. I could use methylated spirits to clean the brushes but that stuff is too pungent for me. I put a cling film in a cup and pour the brush cleaner in that then I seal the cling film around the brush . Doing this means that I don't use so much cleaner ( it is quite expensive) and I don't ruin a cup. If you have brushes that are totally stiff with paint this stuff will rescue them. It's like a super hero for brushes.
