Polar Bluetooth WearLink 92043574 Chest Strap M to XXL

I have been looking for a reasonable priced non-BLE heart monitor (to be compatible with my Nexus 7 2012 edition) and I am glad I've picked this one. All working perfectly fine, it has a replaceable lithium battery that it is said to work for 150h... I still have lots to go :)

Some issues in connection, hopefully these notes will help other people. 1. I couldn't see the device in a BT scan. This is because the device only turns on when you actually wear it. 2. Despite having paired the device and apps allowing me to select it, I was not seeing any data in HRM applications. Applications I tried - Cardio Training Heart Rate Monitor for Polar Heart Rate Variability (simple application for testing) iCardio (Test function only without HRM sensor upgrade) Noom CardioTrainer Eventually I managed to get a HR to display in the iCardio test page by ensuring the strap and pads were wet under the tap, I also wet my skin where the sensor contact will be. It seems that just moistening the pads with a little water is not enough. 3. Once I got a stable signal, I then tried switching to another app (Cardio Training). This failed to see the device until I unpaired it and paired it again. So now it's working. Using the Cardio Training app during a 40 minute interval workout with the phone 2 metres from me. During this test it dropped signal twice; Once when I went to get water from another room (expected) and again when I went into child's pose to cool down a little. It is stated that the BT signal is not strong enough to get through your body, so again, the latter is also expected. Update after 10 days use: Working excellently. I do not need to unpair/pair the device from my phone before use each day with the Cardio Training app. Assuming device is already paired, all I do is - Wet strap, wet skin, put on strap, attach sensor, run app on phone - heart rate displayed.

Bought this to use with my nexus 5 and runkeeper. It is not compatible. :-( Polar support was kind enough to tell me this was definitely impossible when I emailed them. Tried to work this through their app.

I have a Samsung Note 2 and the iCardio Apps and the transmitter works great. I don'y know if the 'branded' ones (Nike and Adidas) work with non-branded apps.

Since purchasing this item I have had significant problems getting the App on my phone to detect / connect to the device. I am using Run keeper. Even when completely wet, the Bluetooth device does not always connect with the phone/ App. I have tried it on other Apps just to rule out Run Keeper as the problem and it did the same with those. I did a cycle route last night with no problem - played tennis for a couple of hours and then tried to set the device for the return journey - it was not having it at all. I am using a Samsung Galaxy Ace phone which is stated as compatible; which it is. But be warned you may have to try many times to get it to connect

After ordering a heart rate monitor which didn't work with my Nexus 4 and Endomondo, this one does. Easy to set up too.

Works perfectly with my Samsung Galaxy Note, have some trouble with on or other app, but fits perfectly to many apps.

Va de maravilla. Lo he usado ya un mes entero, casi a diario durante entre 40 min y 2 horas, y todavía no le he tenido que cambiar la pila que traía. Conecta sin problemas al BT, cómodo de colocar y de limpiar... A veces no conecta pero es cuestión de mi móvil Android, que también lo hace con el manos libres del coche y otros aparatos. Se soluciona en 5 segundos simplemente apagando y encendiendo el BT del móvil. Pensaba que iba a consumir más pila, pero no me parece mucho consumo y las pilas estas son muy baratas por internet (no hace falta comprar las Polar que las venden a precio de oro). La junta de goma de momento está perfecta. Lo he utilizado sin ningún problema con Endomondo, Sports Tracker y algunas más.

It was difficult to find a heart rate monitor to go with my samsung galaxy nexus android and runtastic pro as their are many conflicting posts online but this works perfectly, paired right away after i put it on and used the default pairing code 0000. Would recommend to anyone that has runtastic pro app on Android. Love it.

Ich nutze den WearLink in Kombination mit meinem AndroidHandy und der App "RunTastic". Das "pairing" funktioniert ohne Probleme, Reichweite sind "nur" ca 1,5meter was jedoch mehr als ausreichend ist. Es ist empfehlenswert die Sensoren des Gurtes vor dem Training zu befeuchten, dann wird nach max 1min eine korrekte Herzfrequenz angezeigt, andernfalls dauert etwas länger. Während meiner bisherigen Aktivitäten kam es zu keinem Ausfall bzw Verbindungsabbruch. Der Gurt wird mit einer Art "klammer" geschlossen, ich hatte zuerst bedenken das dies nicht hält - ist aber nicht der fall. schnell geschlossen und schnell wieder aufgemacht. Wenn man viel schwitzt ist der Gurt u.u. etwas unangenehm zu tragen, da sich der Schweiss unter dem Gurt "ansammelt". Nach dem Training wird der Sender vom Gurt abgeklipst (und vermutlich dadurch ausgeschaltet) Der Gurt sowie der Sender sind wasserdicht, wobei ich den Sender nur mit einem feuchten Tusch abwische, der Gurt selber kann mit Wasser gereinigt werden. Laut Anleitung halten die Batterien 150 Betriebsstunden, bisher habe ich 7 Stunden trainiert und die Batterie wird mir (aus der RunTastic App) mit 90% angezeigt. wobei nach dem ersten 30minütigen Training es bereits 95% waren und es bei den restlichen 6,5stunden "nur" 5% weniger wurden. wie aussagekräftig diese Anzeige ist wird sich erst später zeigen. die knopfzellen (CR2025) sind jedoch nicht allzuteuer, 10 Stück gibts hier bereits für 3-4€ Ich finde den Preis für den WearLink zwar ziemlich hoch, aber POLAR Produkte waren schon immer etwas teurer, dafür funktionieren sie aber auch so wie es sein soll. Nachtrag 07.07.2012: inzwischen habe ich ca 40 trainingsstunden "runter" und die batterien sind laut anzeige in der android app "runtastic" bei 65% . In den anderen rezensionen des gleichen produktes urde oft die batterieleistung (max 50stunden) bemängelt. Entweder wurde hier nachgebessert, oder Die leute haben vergessen den sender nach dem training vom gurt zu trennen. Nachtrag 13.08.2012: nach 80 Trainingsstunden ca 45% Akkusleistung In anderen Rezensionen wurde berichtet, das es Probleme in Kombination Samsung Galaxy S3 mit dem Wearlink gibt (Verbindung bricht ab, kein Pairing) Bisher ist dies bei mir nicht aufgetreten, einzig das ich manchmal (aber nicht immer) beim koppeln den pin eingeben muss. Nachtrag 27.11.2012: nach nun fast 200 Trainigsstunden funktioniert der Sender immer noch mit der Orginalbatterie. Meine Android APP (Runtastic PRO) zeigt zwar seit vier wochen bereits "Batteriestatus 10%" , aber diese Angabe ist wohl nicht sehr aussagekräftig Nachtrag: 20.02.2013: nach guten 9 monaten bzw 220 trainingsstunden hat die batterieanzeige immer noch 10% gezeigt, ich hatte jedoch einige abbrüche beim aufzeichnen. deshalb habe ich batterie erstmalig getauscht und nun läufts :-) wieder einwandfrei.

Works perfectly with my Samsung Note II and SportsTrackPro software. No complaints. It is subject to the same limits as any bluetooth device, water is opaque to the signal, which includes your body, so outside, it needs a clear line of sight between transmitter and receiver. I have my Note II on a handlebar mount on my bike, so there are no obstructions, and thus no problems. Initial pairing was no more fiddly than any other BT device; I wish it was simpler because I like the tech and I think a lot of people have trouble with that part of the process using BT. It does use a replaceable battery instead of a rechargeable, at first this bothered me, but I think having a penetrable port between my soaking wet skin and my soaking wet shirt for a rechargeable wouldn't be that great an idea after all. Funny thing is, I have a Garmin Edge 500 as well, and I honestly prefer this setup with android&bt hrm. I do lose cadence with this setup, but I've spent enough time with the Edge to have nice, stable cadences at 90 and 110, but the display is just so much larger, brighter, has visual mapping, and is integrated with my bt headset (music, phone, and beep alerts based on HR).

Ce cardiofréquencemètre remplit très bien son rôle. Il peut être relié en Bluetooth avec tous les téléphones compatibles et s'utilise avec une liste d'applications définie sur le site de Polar. Pour ma part, je l'utilise avec Endomondo sur un Galaxy Nexus, il n'y a rien à redire, les mesures semblent précises, l'appareil capte très bien le signal. Après une semaine d'utilisation, la ceinture se fait finalement très vite oublier quand on court une fois le bon réglage trouvé. Petit bémol, l'indicateur de batterie semble indiquer déjà la moitié d'utilisation, à voir sur la durée. En bref, un bon appareil, à un prix raisonnable, pour mesurer ses performances sportives.
