Fantastic product. Well worth the effort.
The car is getting some lockdown love and clay was something I've heard of but never had the time to do. I gave the car a good wash using Meguires ultimate wash and wax using 2 bucket method then set about getting the car clayed up. The stuff ie easy to use I used half one bar. I Played with it in my hands for a minute to warm it up then use some of the detailing spray that comes with it to spray small sections and work the clay over the body work. This takes stuff off the car you cannot see with the eye and leaves it feeling smooth. No point in going to all that effort and not sealing it with something so some hybrid ceramic spray was applied afterwards. I’m going to start doing this as required to keep the pain in the car looking good. It’s well worth the effort and the beesing is great! Edit- I would actually recommend the new Meguiar’s hybrid ceramic wax and detailing spray to do the same job. It’s easier to use and did the same job. I’ll keep the physical clay for those hard to get spots. But the spray stuff looks to be easier for the same job

If you love your car...
I have been detailing my cars for a long time now, used many different brands but fair to say that Meguiar's range is top. Clay bar system is simply the process to remove contaminants from the bodywork. Tree sap, oxidization, tar, over spray etc. Guessing you already know a bit about washing hence looking at this product and i could go into a lot of detail but i'll offer my two pence ! This is how i use it, wash the car as normal (snow foam it if you can) using 2 bucket method, rinse and leave wet, then panel by panel just spray the mist (you wont need much mist as the car is still wet) and make sure each panel is properly lubricated as incorrect clay bar use can scratch the paintwork. Apply hardly no pressure and rub the bar on the panel like your using an eraser, you'll hear a slight coarse sound as the contaminants are being removed then dry that panel with a good quality microfiber cloth. Knead the clay to find a clean side and carry on throughout the car. You can also use on glass, once the whole car is completed wash the car again, then dry as normal. I blot dry the body with large microfiber towels and never rub to dry (just an old habit) Rub lightly with your hand across the bodywork and you'll see that it is like glass, beautiful. Clay bar does remove wax so it is very very important to apply a wax afterwards or else the paintwork is unprotected. Once you've waxed it the finish is amazing, when it rains the water will repel and the car will stay cleaner longer. I use the clay bar a lot and no matter how new your car is, it will get contaminated being outside and driven so clay barring is a great way to keep the bodywork in tip top shape. In this kit you get 2 clay bars (slightly fatter than previous kits) the detail mist and a microfiber cloth which is always handy The Meguiar's range is massive, all their products are fantastic. Highly recommend ! Thanks.

Great product, does an excellent job, but hard work to do it properly
Brilliant stuff, never heard of clay-ing a car until mine got covered in overspray from an engineering yard and they refused to do anything about it. Google led me to this product and it did a fantastic job, not only removed the overspray, but also years of grime. The bodywork is looking better than it has done for years. Not an easy job though, several hours of elbow grease (although I did the whole thing twice) The kit provided enough clay to do a BMW Estate twice, with about half a block to spare. And it was extremely satisfying to feel the grime being removed. Just be careful not to drop the clay onto the ground - it might pick up some grit - so best to discard any bits you drop,

Magical stuff, professional finish !
Running a block of clay across a car's paintwork sounds like a crazy thing to do and a sure way of scratching up the entire surface, but I decided to put faith in all the positive reviews I'd read and to give it a go. I had a large section of paintwork covered in overspray that would not budge with my trusted AutoGlym Polish or even T-Cut. Following the simple instructions, it took just a 1/a clay bar to remove all the overspray and leave the paintwork feeling and looking smooth as glass. It is magical stuff. The main thing is to use plenty detailing spray to lubricate the surface, so the clay bar glides across the paintwork. You can feel and hear the change as you work the clay across the contaminated area. Keep folding the clay over to expose a clean section of clay and go again. The overspray was quite stubborn and took 3 or 4 passes to remove it all, but little by little it all came off to leave the paintwork as good as new. Then had the confidence to clay the whole car. Dry off, couple of coats of quality wax and my car has not looked as good since it left the factory. Only reason for 4 stars is that I would have found it helpful if Meguiar's had graded the clay or offered different grades for different jobs. The overspray I was dealing with took a lot more effort than expected and at one stage I didn't think it was going to remove it. A slightly more abrasive clay would have made the job a lot easier.

Go to for prepping body work on any vehicle I buy
After some one told me about claying car to smooth off paint, I have been a massive fan of Meguiar's detailer and clay. When I get a vehicle whether car, van or motorbike I always like to give them a good clean up and after a wash (if necessary use a paint cut for scratches and tar etc removed) this is used without fail. What a difference it makes. The other benefits of smoooooth paint is polish goes on/comes of far easier, you use a lot less and get a far superior shine. Once done I have never had to do a vehicle again with clay, just keep up with the cleaning/polishing regime and it should last for many years. Most of the vehicles I buy are 10 years plus and I tend to keep them for 5/6 years and people often comment thinking it must be far newer. It all starts with the clay.....The detailer is quite good to wipe off bird crap just spray and leave for a few seconds. The van is an 08 connect the body work hadn't seen polish in over 7 years and was barely cleaned got 2022, pic before and after clean t-cut and Mequiar's clay. IT WORKS

Used a clay bar on my brothers car and it looked better than when he first bought it (used). This removed really old rust stains in the paint, made the BMW look amazing. One full bar was used for the whole car. The spray ran out halfway through the car. We tried using soap water (based on numerous YouTube suggestions) but the clay bar started to dissolve. We settled for water because the spray is much more expensive.
