Hope this helps. **Q: Is alarm/telephone cable too small for this stapler** A: Personally I use a CT45 for alarm/telephone and CT60 for ethernet cable **Q: Does it secure to external brickwork?** A: ish. not securely for long term use. **Q: Can you get away with using this on RJ45 network cable?** A: It says in the description "for wires UP To 4.5mm" - all my Cat-6a network cable (the usual network cable I mostly use these days) has a diameter of 7mm, but some cat-6a's go up to 9mm... Making this tool unfit for network cabling purposes (if you use Cat-6a, that is).... Cat5/5e are smaller diameter, but still averaging out at around 0.5mm to 1mm too thick. YMMV though, depending on the quality of your cables (not just the Category number) and these numbers are just averages of cables I've got kicking about. There is not really a "standard" diameter...
