What is the difference in series 10, 20 and 30?

More powerful wattage or volume and bass whilst playing music more with the 30 only for larger rooms 20 is a good all rounder don't own a 10

how do you listen to this without using another device, i.e ipod

Hi, That's a great question. The SoundTouch 30 has 6 presets that you can set up for audio sources (Pandora, Spotify, etc). Other than the 6 presets, you would need an audio source to play music from. There is no internal storage to hold music. Have a great day!
