If you look at the full press release from Beiersdorf (Nivea's parent company), they add "Beyond this we have set ourselves a further, ambitious objective for 2020. After reading about Nivea removing all microbeads from their cosmetic products from 2015 I wondered what the Nylon-11 and Polyethylene on the ingredients was for, how can a product 4 years on from Nivea's commitment to remove micro plastics from their line-up of cosmetic products still contain plastic? After looking further, I found that Beiersdorf expanded on the original press release on Nivea's site, adding "Some of our rinse-off products still include solid synthetic polymer particles that serve as opacifiers and colorants, amongst other functions. By 2020, we plan to completely remove these ingredients too from our rinse-off products as a precautionary measure".
