The ASUS ROG Strix B650E motherboard has been an excellent choice for my AM5 build and pairs extremely well with the Ryzen 9800X3D. Setup was smooth, BIOS was easy to update, and the board recognized the CPU and memory without any issues. Power delivery and thermals have been solid, even during long gaming sessions, and the system has been completely stable. EXPO memory enabled easily, boot times are reasonable, and overall performance has been exactly what I expected from a high-end gaming-focused board. The feature set is strong for the price, including PCIe 5.0 support, plenty of USB ports, good networking, and a clean BIOS layout. Build quality feels premium, and the layout made installation straightforward. If you’re building an AM5 gaming PC—especially with a 9800X3D—this motherboard is a great fit and easy to recommend.

So to be clear: I bought the renewed/used like new version of this MoBo, and this is my experience. I've been using this motherboard for a few days now on a brand new build, and everything is working smoothly and without issue. I was able to boot into Bios easily and make all the necessary adjustments with no major issues. The Bios that it came with is from October so about 8-9 months old, but it still worked right off the bat with my Ryzen 5 9600x, which was my major question. I didn't want to have to do a Flashback immediately before getting things up and running. When I got the package, everything looked as it would have if it were new, except that the anti-static bag the Mobo came in was taped closed, not necessarily factory sealed, but that's sort of irrelevant. I *believe* that it came with all of the extras/accessories/cables but honestly if it did, I would have liked more. There weren't any extra screws, other than the M.2 clip-screw replacements, and there weren't any extra cables, which would have been nice. The manual was there and looked new, and is not a bad manual when it comes to explaining all aspects of the function of the motherboard and features. Speaking of which, the rear ports are a great selection on this mobo, plenty of ports, everything working as they should, and the quality of the board seems great. Another reason I bought this motherboard was the SupremeFX audio codec on board, which as far as mid-tier motherboards go, seems to be a pretty good on-board audio setup. So far, with testing on intricate songs like Steely Dan's Aja and Daft Punk's Touch, the sound is amazing, very clear, multi-layered, and no static-y edge that I was getting in the past. Overall, I think this board is a steal at $160 in 2025, and I am happy to report no issues with a "used" or "renewed" motherboard. I will update this review if there are any major failures or issues.

If you can get it on sale, it's great value, I'd 100% recommend it, it's safe for X3D CPUs, and asus BIOS allows for good tweakings, just keep in mind it's not fully white, more like silverish, still looks great, good VRMs for pretty much any CPU, and good hearsinks, connectivity wise is good, not great, but if you need a lot of USB ports, just get something else. The manual is also easy to understand, but I wouldn't recommend building without a tutorial. Can handle high speed memory, and the heat sinks are beefy for your primary SSD, BIOS is easy to update and shouldn't take longer than 5 minutes. Overall great if it's on sale or you want some entry level ROG experience.

Functional and stylish. I like that the m2 slots on the front come with a cover already so you do not need to buy your own heatsinks for them. There's an additional m2 slot on the back, but it is very low profile so it may not even fit a heatsink. Another great quality about this board is that it has light indicators at the top for checking each of the systems on boot, so if you have a problem with ram, it will light up the ram light. That was my issue as I didn't fully press my ram sticks in (feels like Im breaking them!). I paired this mobo with a Ryzen 7 9800x3d, 5080 TI oc, 32gb of ram and a 1000w psu. It went on sale for $200 around Black Friday 2025.

Amazing motherboard for the price from ASUS, fits any ITX build and easy to setup. this motherboard does have 2 NVME SSD slots however its 1 front and 1 back. so any ITX build that doesnt have the room to fit a NVME SSD with a heatsink makes the 2nd SSD slot useless. all in all this is an amazing motherboard and serves its purpose as one of ASUS's latest AM5 ITX motherboards.

The ASUS ROG Strix B850-A motherboard sure indeed is a powerful gaming motherboard. One of the best rated on major sites. For some reason though, I've ran into a lot of stability issues with this board. One of them being the volume. Imagine this, sitting there on your pc enjoying a youtube video maybe even a game of the newest battlefield, anything that involves volume... 10 or so minutes in, volume cuts out. Have to go into the volume settings and switch devices to get it to start working again. And this has been happening since the very first day I installed it. I've built many precious pc's and I've never encountered this so I do not believe it is user error. I've also done research on ASUS boards after I started experiencing this problem and come to find out that ASUS motherboards are prone to this issue. Checked all my drivers, reinstalled windows, messed around with my ram speeds bc ddr5 is very unstable; nothing. I've had this motherboard for 2 months now. Everyday I am in the settings trying to get my volume stable. It's gotten to the point where I started to go into the bios and mess around because I just simply can't do it anymore it drives me absolutely insane and I accidently bricked my board and idk how to fix it and quite frankly even if I do fix it... the volume problem would still persist. I decided to buy a new board, went with MSI this time. Save yourself the time, effort, money, aggravation and just go with a different branded board. The only reason why this board got 1 star from me was because of the speed it produced and the slick look of it. Other than that, it gets zero!

Been running this board for almost a year now. I'll start with the build (was just an additional system for my computer room). This mobo. 64gb Acer Predator Vesta II CL30 PC5 6000 Two Samsung 990 PRO SSD (2tb each) AMD 9800X3D cooled by ASUS ROG Strix LC III 360 Powercolor Red Devil 7900XT All thrown together in the SSUUP Xhuttle case - Air flow - Bottom / Front IN - Topside Exhaust The board has been flawless. CPU, GPU and RAM speed / throughput has been clean, without issue and top speeds. The board has excellent RAM capacity, fit perfectly in the case and although I disabled the WiFi, I did run it for a few days and it functioned flawlessly with my ASUS ROG Rapture WiFi 6 AX Gaming Router (GT-AX6000). It was all purchased here on Amazon, so if you're in the market for a super solid, top end gaming rig, here's your shopping list. Unless you're doing mad overclocking, a whole lot of tweaking, the bells, whistles and features of higher model boards are literally throwing money in the fire, when you could use it for fancier fans, or cables, etc. Highly recommend this board, Can't go wrong. Pay attention to detail and you're golden. I've been building for 35 years now, and I'm still just as meticulous now as I was on my first build. It pays off in the long run. Never intended to share them, but alas, it gives you an idea of what my list comes out to be.

Very good mid-range board. It's a good looking board and is working great. The B650 is a good chipset for a basic rig that you just want to work or game on and don't plan to do tons of overclocking or need a bunch of features that most people don't use. Very impressed using in a gaming PC with a 9800X3D CPU.
