The product has 5 intensity levels. On the lowest setting, there is a flash every 1.5 seconds. On the highest intensity setting, there is a flash every 5 or so seconds.The device only worked on level 5, and acheive around 60% clearance of hair which has not returned 4 weeks later. It feels like a momentary warm patch, about the same as the sun through a car window.After discharging around 500 flashes, the device no longer changes intensity levels. It still produces flashes but remains on level 1, with 1.5 second interval between flashes and no sensation of heat. Level I is completely inffeective even if you discharge 10 flashes to the same spot.The advertised claim was 50,000 flashes and 500 flashes is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay less, so I am not impressed. Either my device is defective, or they forgot to tell me that the 50,000 is only for level 1, and the maximum intensity provides 100 fold fewer. I hope that's the case as I wouldn't want to be holding it in my hand if something blew inside of it.Also, the flashes go through the plastic and your fingers, so be prepared to but sun screen on your hands for 2 weeks after using it. ### ⭐⭐⭐ silk'nglide *by M***Y on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 April 2014* This product is ok, but was a bit disappointed. The description says you can use it on your face, but there is nowhere in the instruction book to tell you how (It didn't come from England, so the instructions are brief). It is also impossible to use on the contours of your face, which was the main reason I bought this - to use for facial hair.
