A good pastry helper.
First try with this product due to onset of arthritis and I am very pleased with the outcome. I still have to do a little bit of rubbing in due to the shape of my bowl, but it is a very handy tool.

A helpful high-quality tool
Makes mixing butter in to the mixture a much simpler task.

Good but could be better
Bought this for my daughter but she found the grip aggravated her carpal tunnel. Mine has a shaped plastic grip which I found better after I tried this one too - my hand tended to slide on the handle. Effective at the job though.

Lovely quality
Great for 'rubbing in' if like me you have hot hands or arthritis. Nice quality and easy to clean- wish I'd bought it years ago.

Very sharp inner edges
This is a useful item but I think there should be a warning about the sharp inner edges which are tightly serrated and extremely sharp. I cut a finger really deeply after washing the item - I was unaware the inner edges were serrated and cut my finger while washing the item. Please put a warning on the item!!!!

Fluffy scones and biscuits - but slightly soft steel
This is a pastry blender. It's meant to cut in cold butter into four for making flaky and fluffy pastry. Does it do the job? Yes, yes it does! My scones never had the amazing texture I can achieve with this (I have warm hands, so rubbing butter in by hand melts it - this does not). It's dishwasher-safe, so easy to clean, too. The only thing to watch out is that the blades occasionally bend sideways a little, and I've had to straighten them twice (not difficult), which makes me think that the steel it's made of isn't of a very good grade. I suspect there might be a better one somewhere out there, but since this one does the job, I'm not going to look for another unless it should break - which it hasn't, yet. On the other hand, I generally cut cold, refrigerated butter in, not frozen as is recommended for some fancier pastry recipes - being a bit soft, it might not be suitable for frozen butter.
