Yeah, just push the oval section on the back half of the top. Mine was stuck too so push very hard

Would this be recommended or any alternatives for decent removal of styling products like wax, fibre paste and gels etc?

I'd highly recommend this product. It works for me. I use, hair spray, wax, styling gel. This washes it out perfectly.
