A Reliable Wake-Up Call with Retro Charm 🔔⏰
For those seeking a no-frills digital alarm clock that gets the job done, the Casio Wake Up Timer fits the bill. This compact, lightweight clock has a delightfully retro aesthetic reminiscent of classic Casio designs from decades past. Right out of the box, setting the time and alarm is refreshingly straightforward using the basic button controls. The bright green LED display is easy to read at a glance, even from across the room. I also appreciated the inclusion of a handy stopwatch function for basic timing needs. Battery life is excellent, with the clock running for well over a year before needing replacements. The snooze button is satisfyingly large and responsive for those bleary-eyed mornings. And the nightlight feature bathes the screen in a subtle glow, though it's not excessively bright. On the downside, the plasticky build quality feels quite basic, even for the affordable price. Dropping this on a hard surface would likely cause damage. The beeping alarm is also fairly tinny and abrupt, lacking gradual wake-up sounds or radio functionality. But for a simple bedside alarm without smartwatch integration or fancy apps, this Casio gets the job done reliably. The retro design aesthetic charms with its minimalist, old-school vibe. Just don't expect any premium bells and whistles. If you're looking for an affordable, straightforward timekeeping solution to ensure you wake up on time, this basic Casio alarm clock is a decent, nostalgia-inducing option. It may lack refinement, but sometimes you just need an uncomplicated wake-up call.

Uncomplicated, reliable and inexpensive analogue alarm clock.
Inexpensive, pocket sized Alarm Clock measuring 5.5cm x 5.5cm x 3cm deep. Plastic shell. Large, clear numerals and minute/hour hands with luminous coating. Sweep second hand plus hour alarm indicator. Really simple to set up. Insert the AA battery (supplied), set the time from the winder on the back which has two positions - pulled slightly out to change the time, pushed in to change the alarm time. Button on top of clock pushed to 'up' position to set alarm on, 'down' position for off. I first had one of these when I was a schoolgirl, and it woke me dutifully every day, for many years. And I took some waking, like most kids. It lasted forever. Very sturdy and survived being swept off bedside tables, knocked over and thrown. This one is pretty much identical. This has a clear, insistent, repeating chirrup of an alarm call, but other than that, the clock is virtually silent. Battery will last a year or longer. This comes properly boxed, with all the paperwork for instructions, guarantees, etc. I got this for the car, as the internal car clock has clapped out, but this is an ideal little analogue clock that will fit in discreetly just about anywhere..

Casio alarm clock
I like Casio alarm clocks like this so when one died I bought a replacement. Unfotunately although I ordered a black one with a black face I was sent a black one with a white face. Still a good clock, but not exactly what I wanted, so only 4 stars out of 5.

Exactly What I Wanted, Exactly As Depicted in the Photo and At a Great Price ! !
I had a similar alarm clock to this one (not a Casio one though - if I remember right I got it from Wilkinsons!) but it got broken recently when I accidentally knocked it off my bedside table and it totally fell apart. So, I needed another alarm clock and decided to get this one because a) it seemed compact and functional, without unnecessary functions that I would rarely, if ever use, b) I prefer this 'normal' type of alarm clock to the digital ones, c) Casio is a well known brand and c) it wasn't over-priced! It arrived this morning and I'm so happy with it! It's exactly as it looks in the photo (the black one), although the green numbers and the tips of the hands are much brighter than depicted in the photo. The green almost looks fluorescent so I'm sure I will be able to see the time in the dark! The clock is a really nice size - compact but not too small - and it seems quite substantial. It came with a battery which I popped in, not necessarily expecting it to work as I thought it could be an old one, but it works fine. To set the time and the alarm, there's a little button / dial at the back. To set the alarm just turn that and set it to the right time. Then pull the little slider thingy on top of the clock up and the alarm is set (push the slider down to turn the alarm off). To set the time just pull that button out a bit and turn it to get the right time setting. When you've set the time, just push the button back in to the original position. The alarm is nice and clear and not startlingly loud, thank god, but loud enough to wake most people up unless perhaps they're the kind of sleeper who is almost totally dead to the world when they're asleep but the alarm should even wake them up! This is just perfect for me - a well priced, nice quality, straightforward, functional, compact and nice looking little clock! I don't see the point in wasting money on bigger, clunky, more 'hi-tech' and costly alarm clocks, especially the digital ones with all the stupid settings that I would hardly, if ever, use anyway. This one is great and it seems like it should last me for quite awhile unless, of course, I knock it off the bedside table like I did with my last alarm clock and it falls apart! I'll be more careful in future though!

Cheap + cheerful. Bought 2. 1 was faulty.
I bought the CASIO TQ-140-1B (BLACK with WHITE face) + the CASIO TQ-140-7 (WHITE). They look like cheap plastic clocks. SECOND HAND - It is not a sweep second hand. It ticks. The tick is not as quiet as some when can only hear it if you put to your ear. But the tick is still not noticeable unless you focus on it - so it shouldn't be a prob for most. SETTING TIME + ALARM - They are 1 combined button at the back - so a bit fiddly. BATTERY - The battery is included. The battery goes in at the back. The cover is abit awkward to get off but it is very easy to replace the battery.. ALARM - It is a beep style. There seems no difference in the beep frequency or volume the longer the alarm goes. I find the beeps shrill + not the nicest sound to wake up to. (see my other reviews) They are loud and stay loud. The turn off is easy - it's on the top. SNOOZE/LIGHT - There are no snooze or light. ACCURACY - It's a Quartz + should be reliable. Having said that - I checked time against the official clock for a couple of days. It was clear within the 1st 2 hours that the WHITE one was already losing time - albeit just seconds. The second hand seemed to struggle at points, then be ok, then get caught again. The BLACK one with WHITE FACE seems more reliable. SIZE - It's small + light for travelling. You get what you pay for. But it's good for travelling - you won't worry about losing it or it getting damaged. Point to mention - if you do need a replacement, get a different colour as the clock faces (and likely the parts) are different. The white face on my black clock was different to the one in my white clock.

Excellent No-Frills Luminous Alarm Clock
I'm so pleased with this little Casio alarm clock. I bought it because I travel a lot for work and my old faithful fell apart from old age. This clock arrived fast and looks exactly like the one in the picture. It has an alarm that you set from a knob at the back. It does not have a snooze function. It also does not have a tick - it's completely silent. Perhaps the reviewers who said it does have these two things were sent a different model It is luminous at night - be sure to put the clock on the windowsill or under an electric light for an hour or so a week to recharge the luminous finish. Apparently 1AA battery will last a year which is very convenient as I shall diarise to replace it annually. The clock keeps pretty good time for a manual item - I check it against the radio about once a week and so far, it's remained accurate. For me this is a winner - cheap but not so cheap it'll fall apart within minutes. If I get a year or two's wear I'll be happy, but my Dad has one like it that's still going strong after 13!

Not illuminated
The clock works fine, but I bought it specifically as it is advertised as having “Neo-Display” ie that the hands are illuminated so the time can be read in a dark room. Sadly, this is not the case.

Casio Beep Alarm Clock - White (TQ140-7)
A cute little travel alarm clock which is more or less perfect for my needs. The face is very clear and it has illuminated hands. The tick is quiet and the alarm has an audible "beep" which is suitably annoying! An important feature for me is the simple controls - nothing too small or fiddly. I don't see what anyone could possibly criticise about this little clock: it is exactly what it purports to be. They even give you a battery. The price is very reasonable. Oh, it's black by the way, not white, as if that matters.
