Amazon Basics Hard Black Carrying Case for My Passport Essential External Hard Drive

A good cheap & basic case to protect your hard drives. It feels strongly made, plenty of space within it and is a good black colour.

This is my second Amazon Basics External Hard Drive Case — and for good reason. It’s sturdy, compact, and fits my drive perfectly with room for cables. The zipper is smooth, and the padding gives great protection. Reliable quality at a great price. I’d happily buy a third!

This is a quality case and is great value for money. Unfortunately, it is too roomy for my device.

The AmazonBasics range is a series of products for every day items you use, which make them simpler to use, or just essentials like cases, stylus' or media. They're made to be frustration free, and easy for the end user to pick up and use. This case is both easy to use, and easy to open when you get it from your delivery outlet. Straight from the post man, this case came in a usual Amazon package you'd get DVDs and books in. Inside the cardboard surround was a white bag, and inside that was a clear plastic bag protecting the case. It was all very easy to shed from, and I had access to the case within minutes. The case is black and rather sturdy, it has a nice velvet touch to it, and has a smart Amazon Basics tag on the zip. Inside- we have Amazon's orange to store our precious drive in. One side just has an elasticated strap, the other a mesh. In the mesh, I put the USB cable, in the other part, the drive sits nicely and smugly. I have two cases, one for a WD Studio (Mac) and another for a 2TB drive, which is a lot bigger than this Studio. The both fit in nicely and stop the drive moving in transit. One of the things I found about this is if you hit it, it makes a vibration, like it is balancing out the shake, of course I did this with no hard drive in the case, but it is good to know there is some safety measures put into this. At under a tenner - this is very reasonable and very good value for money. Most of the cases I had before were under £20, and were nowhere as protected as this. This is yet another fine product from Amazon - it may be basic, but it's just what I needed for the drive, and will hopefully be using this for years to come. An essential if you buy any pocket drive, no matter where you get it from.

Very tough strong, and does and will protect what's inside, I have dropped this many times with any real damage, damage that will destroy what's inside, so it serves its purpose, very light slim and so strong, would recommend, cleans easy. James Brown - Liverpool - UK, true Amazon reviewer.

I have multiple external hard-drives, some of them are bulky and are meant to keep a backup at home. Some of them are smaller ones which I use to carry my photos and other files around with me while I am traveling or transporting data between home and office. Two of them are small 1TB and 2TB USB3.0 hard-drives. I wanted to buy a case for them. After considering a lot of hard and soft cases from various sellers, I stumbled upon this and thought of giving it a try. And it was a wise decision !!! As I always say, Amazon Basics items are equivalent (if not better) to quality in other comparable items from different manufacturers and yet they are available at almost half the price (and sometimes even lesser than that). I have many of the Amazon Basics items and I am not unhappy with any of them. And this is no exception. A few good things: 1. The exterior is pretty hard and you can rest assured that your HDD will be protected even if this case is buried deep down in the luggage. 2. Soft interior makes sure that the HDD stays safe even if there is some pressure on it from other items in the luggage. 3. This case is made for HDD which do not require an external power because there is not much space inside for any adapter. However, there is a mesh pocket which can be used to store the USB cod safely. 4.Even if its hard and durable, the case is pretty light-weight and wont ad much weight to your luggage. 5. Although its advertised for Western Digital My Passport but it can be used to store other USB powered HDDs which are up to 5 inches in dimension. I have one of these for my Seagate 1 TB HDD. 6. It also has an elastic band to hold the HDD securely in the case while in use. 7. The zipper is of very good quality and will not fail on you anytime soon. Cons: The only disadvantage I can think of this case is that there is none. If I have to count one, I would say it would have been better had they made a small zipper pocket inside the case (which would be of great use to photographers like me to also store their memory cards in it while on a trip. All in all, this is an excellent case at excellent price. AMAZONBASICS DOES IT AGAIN !!!!!
