I can't fault Morphy Richards team in that they promptly sent me a replacement for the first one which ruined a number of clothes due to brown water coming out of it - when I spoke to the Morphy Richards support team then (it was about 6 weeks old but we don't use it often) they told me it was due to the limescale in London water and sent me a new one. I was told by Morphy Richards never to use either, a, tap water in the iron nor b, ironing water from the shops (despite, you know, me thinking something sold as ironing water wouldn't do damage to the iron.) They specified to use de-ionised water which you'd use to top up the engine of the car, and so I've been paying for premium water to iron with since this was replaced. We only use this for shirts about once a fortnight - with one shirt worn a day, so about 8-10 shirts ironed a fortnight, and it now won't heat up at all, and the brown water is back. I'm going to go for a different brand. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good value for money *by J***G on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 December 2017* This is a replacement for an identical looking Morphy Richards iron, which I had used for more years than I care to remember. Unfortunately, over time, the sole plate was worn out and not as smooth as it once was and therefore got this model as a replacement.The iron is one of the lightest currently being sold in the market and is ideal if all you are looking for is something that irons well without the added complication of "clever" functions. One useful feature it does have is the "No Drip" function. It does not have an "Anti-Scale" function, but then neither did my previous model and the steam output never degraded.The iron comes with an average 2m cord and the tank holds approximately 400ml of water. It also has a "Steam Shot" button for steam boost and also a water spray button for those suborn creases.Temperature is controlled via a simple turn knob which primarily has 3No settings; Silk/Nylon, Wool and Cotton/Linen.Overall good value for money if all you are looking for is a decent iron with the bells and whistle! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nearly perfect. *by B***T on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 December 2016* I have 2 frozen shoulders ( 1 coming and the other going ) and so have had to buy a lot of new things to enable me to continue to do things. My old iron worked perfectly well, but was just too heavy. This weighs about half a kilo less which is about 1/3 lighter than my other which makes a lot of difference. I'm still struggling to iron but can manage enough to stop my husband having to do it ( very 50's housewife I know but I want to continue doing what I can and he's working full time ).It it well balanced and produces a decent amount of steam.The only niggle is the size of the hole to fill the water tank. It is tiny. They do provide a thingy with a small spout to make it a bit easier but it's still a bit of a pain and it also means having to twist it a lot further over to empty the water out, but this is really a minor niggle.I just hope it proves to be reliable. I'm just hoping it doesn't break down in a couple of years and I'm unable to replace it with the same.
