I bought this sata to usb c adapter to connect my old sata drives to my new laptop. The adapter works for both 2.5" and 3.5" drives, which is very convenient. It is very fast and supports usb 3.1 speeds. It works on both windows and mac, and it is plug and play, no drivers needed. It works with every sata drive I have tested, including ssd, hdd, and optical drives. It is very easy to use and has a solid build quality. It comes with a power adapter for the 3.5" drives, which is nice. I am very happy with this purchase and I will buy again if I need more.

My external hard drive was being RMA'd and I needed access to that data while it was gone, so I picked this up as a holdover. It can't go through a non-powered hub since the 3.5" hard drive requires that power, but plugged in directly to your machine or into a powered hub (and its own power plug as well) it's as fast as my external drive. I'm definitely holding on to this for emergency use in the future!

Works well, and did not need to use external power that they provided if you have a Thunderbolt 3 or 4 port. I had to grab I fo off an old HDD and was tired of installing it in and out of my gaming rig. So off my Dell XPS laptop, I was able to plug in and no drivers or extra things needed.

Arrived as promised and allowed me to recover the DVD Rewriter from my old desktop and use it with my new laptop. I would have given it five stars, except for the USB connector cable being inconveniently short (only about six inches long).

Had a NUC die due to heat. Had a 2tb ssd I couldn't mount with a standard usb adapter, I was able to use this one without the power cable to mount and copy files from the drive. Excellent.
