Will the sound be obstructed if plant pots and garden furniture are in the way?

I would place them where the animal is likely to pass as the noise and flashes will deter it from your garden. I have several around the garden and it seems to work.

If I place it in a dark attic to deter squirrels, how long will the batteries typically last for before I need to go up there and charge them?

At the moment I am charging the batteries every week as mine are outside and this time of the year there isn't much sun. Really useful as I plug them into my phone charger.

The red is dull and it doesn't flash. As there is not much sunshine at this time of year I tend to top up the charge every week and it takes 1.1/2 hrs. I have four and it's not a problem but could probably leave for another week. When there is a lot of sunshine they will charge themselves.
