I love this watch - it has a really good heavy feel to it, and it feels like a much more expensive watch than it is. A decidedly different quality from the retail shop fashion watch I had bought - which cost £25 and lasted 2 months. I was worried this watch would look too large on my wrist (which is very small) but it doesn't; it looks the size of an average mans watch. The face is really clear, the cream colour has real depth, the matt black surround feels really substantial, and the matt black hands and numbers show up really clearly. The calendar lens with the date is quite small - I have to look carefully to see what it says. But the rest of it is so beautiful I will happily put up with that., The night light system is fantastic - I can even work out the time without my glasses on when I cannot see the numbers at all. The leather strap has an oiled leather look to it, and so far has proven to be very substantial, despite having been in the washing up water a few times. The strap is also malleable and very easy to wear. This is definitely not the Timex of my childhood, which had put me off them - I thought - forever. Great watch - accurate, stylish and durable (scratch wise). Watch strap is great too. However, don’t buy the watch if you’re buying it for the indiglo function. I’ve had mine coming up to a month now and the indiglo function has already stopped working and I have only needed to use it once or twice.

For the price, it's a nice watch and the 40mm diameter gives it enough prominence on the wrist without being too big - it is a field watch after all. But, without doubt, it's the indiglo light function that sets it apart.

A nice watch, clear face easy to read, the supplied strap very good fits larger wrists no problem. Having owned a previous model some 5 years I love the backlight but the light has stopped working just 5 wks later.

I have used this watch now for a few months and purchased as I needed a 'daily' that was robust. I work as a firefighter so the watch can find itself subject to wet, dry, cold, hot, day, and night. I had just broken two other watches so didn't hold much hope for toughness. But on that front, this watch has not let me down. It has been very robust and clearly the Timex quality shows through. In terms of features, this watch also surprises. Yes, I knew the face would illuminate but I was surprised by just how much it did and with such a light pressure on the crown. This came in handy on a number of jobs where it was pitch black but I needed to note time. The dials also have luminescence so even without the backlight it was easy to see in bed. The accuracy and motion are the only two very minor criticisms. The accuracy seems to have dropped a second or two Vs my trusty but old automatic motion watches, off considering it is a Quartz. The motion used is also very loud. I could hear the ticking from my wrist in a waiting room, and if wearing to bed I can hear it through the pillow. Versus a Fossil Quartz I had, this motion is notably louder by at least double. Very liveable but as a result I prefer to wear my Vostok or Seiko 5 automatics despite their greater fragility. Overall, highly recommend as this is very durable, used by me very frequently, and has survived fire related work abuse very well versus other brands double the money inc a Seiko 5 Sport (lost a crystal), Fossil Quartz (chipped crystal and stopped ticking, presumed flat), and a Rotary automatic (seized the balance spring). But if you get irritated by sounds, you may be best to avoid.

Have had a Timex watch with Indiglo for around 20 years. It has been on my wrist almost constantly even when I have undertaken heavy duty DIY and garden improvements. It has been bumped and scraped and it looks rather worse for wear but still keeps perfect time although it has never been serviced or repaired. I recently decided that I needed a new watch for when I was not working around the house and garden. I decided to stick with Timex for the reliability I have experienced over the years and for the convenience of Indiglo which is so useful. I bought the Timex Expedition Scout with a leather strap, am very pleased with the appearance and I hope the reliability is as good as my previous experience with Timex. With reference to other reviews which complain about the loud ticking I can only say that I must need a very powerful hearing aid as I can only hear the ticking when I hold the watch next to my ear! An absolute bargain.

Relógio bonito, com design limpo e discreto, bom para o dia a dia. A qualidade parece boa e a entrega foi rápida. Para quem está acostumado com smartwatch, ele pode parecer um pouco mais pesado no início, mas nada que incomode. No geral, vale a pena.

Très belle montre pour le prix, le petit plus sur les modèles Timex (pas toutes là gammes) elles dispose d’un rétro éclairage du cadran le fameux indiglo génial de nuit voir photos. Le cuir et souple et à l’air de qualité le rendue et top. Effectivement la trotteuse fait un peut de bruit mais cela ne me gêne en rien. Pour moi le plus important une heures bien lisible avec en plus les chiffres en 24h, la date, la qualité, et son éclairages. J’attend de voir la durée dans le temps.

Update 3.10.2019 Nach nunmehr einem Jahr ist die Gangabweichung der Uhr genau +1 Sekunde. Seit dem ersten Stellen wurde die Zeit nicht mehr justiert - lediglich das Datum wurde nach kurzen Monaten weitergeschaltet, jedoch ohne die Uhr anzuhalten. Das ist ganz außerordentlich - sämtliche anderen, dreimal so teuren Quartzuhren namhafter Hersteller die ich besitze haben eine Gangabweichung von -2 Sekunden bis +3 Sekunden pro Monat(!). ====================== Die Uhr kommt mit einem sehr weichen, fast wildlederartigen, hellbraunen (Kalbs-?)Lederband, welches ein leichtes und angenehmes Tragegefühl vermittelt. Das Braun ist etwas heller als im Produktfoto. Das cremefarbene Zifferblatt mit 12- und 24-Stunden-Skalen ist klar und sachlich im Stil von Fliegeruhren. Es hat schwarze Zahlen und Markierungen, schwarz konturierte Stunden- und Minutenzeiger in Schwertform mit deutlicher Spitze, sodaß die Uhrzeit genau ablesbar ist. Der haardünne Sekundenzeiger hat die Form eines Bogen-Pfeils. Der Sekundenzahnrad hat leider etwas Spiel, so neigt der Sekundenzeiger zum Nachschwingen nach einem Sekundensprung, und er zeigt immer mal wieder vor oder hinter die Indexmarkierungen. Dennoch ist der Zeiger keineswegs lose, und er wackelt auch nicht herum - es ist Spiel im Sekundenrad. Das Problem ist leider allen Timex-Uhren zu eigen die ich besitze. Bevor man also darüber meckert bedenke man aber die niedrige Preisklasse dieser Uhr, und daß es ja kein Sekundenzeiger eines Chronographen ist, bei dem das extrem störend wäre. Insofern kann man diese kleine Ungenauigkeit vernachlässigen. Jedenfalls betrifft dies nur den Sekundenzeiger, Stunden- und Minutenzeiger sind "always spot-on". Das Datumsfenster ist sehr klein, die Datumsscheibe liegt dafür aber nicht sehr tief - die Ablesbarkeit ist daher insgesamt nicht schlecht. Wer ohnehin schon eine Lesebrille benötigt wird das Datum ohne diese aber kaum ablesen können. Das Datumseinstellung läßt sich sowohl vor- wie auch rückwärts vornehmen, man muß also nicht nochmal 30 Tage durchdrehen um wieder auf ein verpaßtes Datum zu kommen. Die Zeiteinstellung läßt sich sehr geschmeidig und präzise ohne Zeigergewackel vornehmen. Die Übersetzung ist wesentlich besser als bei doppelt so teuren Uhren, wo es total fummelig ist den Minutenzeiger genau auf einen Index zu positionieren. Beim Eindrücken der Krone muß man aber achtgeben, diese beim Drücken nicht doch noch leicht zu drehen - sonst kann man das Synchronisieren mit der Referenzzeit gleich nochmal angehen. Vom Tageslicht angeregt wirken die Zeiger bei Tage weiß, im Dunkeln leuchten sie grünlich. Die Nachleuchtdauer der Leuchtzeiger ist nicht sehr hoch, nach 15 Minuten kann man sie kaum noch erkennen. Dank der Indiglo-Hintergrundbeleuchtung ist die geringe Nachleuchtdauer aber kein großer Kritikpunkt. Wer es anfänglich nicht lassen kann die Beleuchtung durch Druck auf die Krone immer wieder zu testen oder vorzuführen, der dürfte alsbald eine neue Batterie benötigen. Man ist gerne dazu geneigt, sie länger als unbedingt nötig leuchten zu lassen - einfach weil es so super aussieht. Entgegen einiger Rezensionen konnte ich an den Nähten des Bandes keine losen Fäden entdecken, auch wirkt die Krone nicht wackelig. Man kann die Krone gut mit den Fingernägeln greifen - was aber sicher AUCH dazu führen kann daß sie sich in Ärmelbünden von Pullovern oder Jacken leicht verfangen kann. DIe Uhr ist leidlich gut gegen Spritzwasser und kurzes Eintauchen geschützt, darauf ankommen lassen würde ich es bei einer Uhr in dieser Preisklasse aber nicht - schon gar nicht mit einem solch feinen Lederband, das dann direkt Flecken aufweisen dürfte. Da die Krone nicht verschraubt ist dürfte Wasser eindringen, wenn der Dichtring einmal ausgehärtet ist. Staub oder Flecken auf dem Glas lassen sich auf hellen Zifferblättern sofort als Schatten erkennen. Da hier kein Saphirglas verwendet wurde gilt es, möglichst nirgends mit dem Uhrglas anzustoßen und Kratzer zu vermeiden, andernfalls dürften eben diese Schatten auch sonst kaum sichtbare Kratzer gnadenlos auffällig machen. Die Uhr tickt vernehmlich, wenn man mit dem Ohr näher als 25 Zentimeter herankommt - und sofern es ansonsten absolut still ist. Das Ticken ist aber sehr fein und überhaupt nicht unangenehm. Jetzt kommt der Kracher - die Gangabweichung liegt bei nur +1.3 Sekunden in zwei Monaten. Damit ist sie die ganggenaueste meiner Uhren. Erstaunlich akkurat für so ein preiswertes Ührchen. Die Uhr ist am Arm kaum zu spüren, und wenn man sich ihrer Mal wieder erinnert und draufschaut, dann erfreut einen die klare Darstellung sofort. Der Stil paßt zu nahezu jeder Kleidung von dunkel bis hell, zu Kleidung mit braunen, erdigen und sandfarbenen Farbtönen sieht sie schlicht spitze aus. Kritik kann ich an dieser Uhr für den Budget-Preis nicht wirklich anbringen. Freilich geht es immer noch besser, aber dann wird es auch deutlich teurer. Alles in allem ist das bei einer Uhr im mittleren zweistelligen Eurobereich so zu erwarten. Also nicht erst kaufen und dann meckern, sondern erst denken und dann kaufen - oder eben nicht. Man bekommt eine nette und günstige Uhr, die auf den ersten und auch zweiten Blick einen wesentlich höherwertigen Eindruck macht, und die man in tiefster Dunkelheit selbst ohne Brille (bis auf das Datum) problemlos ablesen kann. Die Anmutung ist unauffällig, aber gediegen - und keineswegs protzig. Nimmt man das alles zusammen, dann kann man ihr das Gewackel am Sekundenzeiger wirklich nicht verübeln. Ich würde sie sofort wieder kaufen, und habe bereits eine weitere als Geschenk versenden lassen.
