We have the small and the brushing head is 3.5 inches long big enough for your dog I'd say. We got this brush when our was a pup but still use it -and she's 19 kg!

do the metal pins stay in the brush? All my brushed seem to shed metal wires every stroke?!

I don't think the metal pins should come out - mine don't - I would suggest contacting the seller - how can it work if they keep shedding every time you use it - good luck.

Would this be good for a Shar Pei with bad skin in places?
