Perfect for use in running TV cables in a stud wall

It was a simple enough question that I asked the electrician. Could he put a connection point on the end of the wire that led to the wall-mounted telly so that I no longer had the wire poking out from the wall connected to a plug that was then put in one of the double sockets. He shook his head expensively and said he couldn't do that; the telly would need its own point behind it. He then produced a massive drill that really belonged in some bank heist movie and started using it to almost demolish my nice wall. Minutes later he said that he thought I'd need a plasterer. Once I'd picked myself up from the floor I realised that maybe it was time to upgrade my telly for a smarter one and also to use the massive cavity running long my wall to also run an HDMI cable and perhaps re-route the aerial cable to neaten this up too. This little white tufty box is perfect for this as you can poke all sorts of wires through its furry perimeter and then feed them along the TV backed and into the TV. This means too that you can reduce the number of plugs and sockets and things by plugging the cables directly into the TV and avoid the loss that sometimes having too many joins will bring about. I used a standard slim plastic pattress box behind this furry faceplate and the tufty box screwed into this without murmur using the screws that came with it. I had to chip away at the cable knockouts on the pattress box a little so that the HDMI cable with the plug on the end would go through and also the aerial cable that needed a lot less space. The whole thing came together quite nicely and the plasterer has been today to make sure its all plastered in. So, it was a much bigger job than I'd anticipated but perhaps it did give me a good excuse to maybe upgrade my telly ! Happy viewing.

This is really designed to fit onto a back box or an existing fixture of some sort. A lot of these brush plates have this kind of design which is totally unnecessary for AV cables or data cables. It can be modified to fit flush against the wall. Some other reviews have already mentioned that you can easily break of the tabs. Whilst this easy to do with pliers (just bend them down and they snap off very easily and cleanly, but don't cut them, bend them off) this still isn't enough to get a flush fit, though you'll get a lot closer. This is made up of two parts (Euro style modules) The "outer frame" which has tabs. And the "inner frame" that contains the brushes. The inner frame clips onto the outer frame. But this inner frame itself, has tabs that hold it in place that protrude enough to get in the way of a true flush fit (will leave about 1-2mm gap still). So not sure how others have done this, or they haven't and are happy enough just breaking the clips on the outer frame and getting a close enough fit. The problem is, breaking the tabs on the inner frame, is basically destructive as the inner plate is now not holding on to anything. It's also not nearly as easy to get a clean break and may need filing or sanding down a bit. But it is still not a bad fit and there enough friction to hold it in place, and even if it did fall out, it can only fall outwards so can easily be pushed back in. However I still glue gunned it back in to get a firm hold again (again, quite easy to do in itself). So this isn't a very good plate if you want a flush fit against a wall. Having said that, The listing doesn't make any mention of a flush fit (though the pictures do show screws and plugs which you would only ever need for a direct to wall flush fit, and which incidentally are not actually included, it only comes with bolts for fixing on a back box). Otherwise the actual quality is not bad, the brushes are soft but firm enough to stay in place and fill the gaps between cables. On the quality and price, it's 5 stars. Just a shame that it's hard to find a two row brush plate that actually fits flush on to a wall. Do people really go to the effort of chiselling and destroying their wall to install a backbox to have the "convenience" of clipping an AV brush plate on top, just for the sake of AV or data cables?

The brush plate did have nobbly bits on it on the inside to locate the plate that I had to file off. 2 minute job and looks good

I am going to mount up a wall mounted tv and decided i didnt want to have wires showing so i buried some plastic trunking in the wall, this at the top and bottom allows me to hide the wires behind the tv and the lower devices.

Bought 2 of these for feeding through hidden cables for wall mounted TV. Havent fitted yet, but they appear good quality & a very good price. Came with screws for fitting it to an electrical back box.

Produktabbildung und Produkt passen zusammen :)) zusätzlich passen die Schraublöcher auf die üblichen 68 mm Hohlwanddosen. Die beiliegenden Schrauben sind sehr lang und müssten gekürzt werden. Ich konnte allerdings einfach die Schrauben aus der Dose verwenden....... Dieser Wandabschluss ist sehr einfach gehalten. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut................................. Die Kabeldurchführung erfüllt vollkommen ihren Zweck........................................ Die Bürsten sind sind nicht kratzig, aber fest genug um die Durchführung relativ gut dicht zu halten, so wie von mir vor dem Kauf auch erwartet... Aber leider sind die Pinsel nicht wirklich weiß. Sie sehen im Vergleich zur Dose eher grau aus............................. PS: Guter Service von Amazon........ Absolute Kaufempfehlung..........................

Acheté pour ma tv à encaster, les cables passent parfaitement, la plaque se fixe sur les boites a encastrement 68mm. Rien à dire. Prix correct
