The light is slightly warmer than the bright white I use appropriately elsewhere. In the position the lamp is, the LED bulb gives a slight but audible hum in the absence of any covering other sound, e.g. TV. If you like silence and are sensitive to noise, I would suggest that you think of another bulb type.
