Casio Standard B640wc 5aef Watch

Who knew? Apparently the iconic Casio F-91W watch has a myriad of knock-offs, all over certain auction sites. Not sure about this specific model, but I'm sure there are clones out there in the wild... Luckily, this seems authentic. Although it was a Warehouse purchase (listed as "repackaged") it actually came in a Casio box with Casio tag and documentation. Curiously this is listed as "Rose" colour but as it's Unisex, and would probably be considered a bit of "girly" watch colour, I would say it's more Bronze and could happily be worn by a man. The case itself isn't too big or small and could be worn by either gender. This is a gift, so I had to reset the date and time after receiving it but it's simple enough to do. Great bargain, looks good, works well as a daily beater (been checking it keeps good time - all fine). It's 5 BAR water resistant so I'm sure it will cope in the rain, on day trips hiking and doing more arduous stuff (the recipient is an adventurer at heart and goes camping, hillwalking, etc). I assume the battery will last longer than typical analogue watches, as digitals tend to go on and on.... Posted pictures so you can get a better look at the Rose (cough, Bronze) B640WC-5AEF. The instruction booklet was a bit battered (to be expected for a Amazon Warehouse purchase), that's how it arrived, but everything else was in perfect condition. Re, Casio fakes, what to look out for: The metal bracelet is a dead giveaway, usually it's not well-finished, has sharp edges and "rattles". The movement won't keep good time. Some even have "disco lights" (that cycle different colours) instead of one-colour illumination. Copies also don't have serial numbers on the back of the bracelet - beside the pins that attach to the case. I can see an Amazon reviewer has problems with the clasp - others with the longevity of the finish - both signs of fakes but it's hard for me to comment on a new item. I'll update if I have issues with the Rose (or Bronze) coating. Others are complaining about the face being easily scratched, again, hard for me to say, so soon. (About the F-91W specifically - the "CA510" display, when you press the right button for 5 seconds, doesn't work on most knock-offs. All digits display simultaneously when you press all buttons at once on a genuine F-91W - the B640WC-5AEF doesn't have these little quirks.)

Beautiful, sleek & well made

I love this watch! I have never really been a watch person and constantly forget to re-put it back on after a shower (or forget to take it off before I get in), but now I am lost if I dont have this on my wrist. I love that as well as an alarm to go off, on either a set day every week/month or every day (to get me out of bed for work), I can also set an hourly beep (reminds me to keep drinking water), a countdown timer (endless uses), and a stopwatch! When I first got this watch I was having to take antibiotics at set times and this watch proved very helpful in reminding me to take them (I am normally useless and setting a phone reminder is often a waste of time as I can leave my phone on a desk and be sat another room). Also if I forget to take the watch off when getting in the shower as I mentioned earlier, its not the end of the world as it has water resistant to 5 bar, which is enough protection in the shower.

I got this for my wife. She loved it. Time and date easy to set on it. It bleeps every hour. The alarm clock is easy to set and useful. Its comfortable to wear. The fact it lights up is helpful if you wake early hours of the morning and need to see what time it is without switching the bedroom light on. It's not big or heavy. Not sure if it's rose gold but still a nice colour. Well worth the price.

My rose gold wedding band is in the photo, for matching purposes, it is more of a bronze which works really well with my pale red head skin tone. It is not so girly that a man couldn't wear it. I think it's stunning. As with all casios easy to set and use. The strap was easy to fit to my wrist size. Overall definitely give five stars

It looks great, from a couple of reviews I thought it was going to be heavy. But it feels just right! I have used it for an entire week (by the time of writing the review), doesn't pull on delicate clothes, no skin staining even if you wash your hands with it. Great quality (my last CASIO worked great for 5 years until I had an accident and killed it) hope this one lasts as long

Very happy with watch. Would buy again. Not a small ladies watch, Ideal if your looking for something not so dainty. Very happy with colour, and comfortable enough to wear all day.

Fue un regalo para mi pareja ya que le rompí el otro que tenía sin querer. Es muy bonito y resistente, suele quitárselo para hacer ejercicio y dormir y se le a caído unas cuantas veces y resiste muy bien. Se ducha con él y ningún problema, no se oxida, no pierde color y lo mejor de todo es que la pila nunca se gasta. Es la primera vez que probamos Casio y la verdad que no decepciona, están bien por qué se ve la hora rápido y fácil al ser digitales
