MUC-OFF - Chain Cleaner 400ml

As someone who cycles regularly and likes to keep their drivetrain in top shape, I’ve tried a few different chain cleaners over the years — and Muc-Off’s Chain Cleaner remains a firm favourite. It’s a simple, effective, and fast-acting formula that delivers brilliant results with minimal mess. The 400ml aerosol can is well-designed with a strong, direct spray and a nozzle that gets into all the small gaps and links of the chain. I use it mainly on my mountain bike and commuter hybrid, and it's equally effective on both. It foams up lightly on contact, clings to the chain for a few minutes, and then breaks down all the muck — old grease, road grime, and general crud that builds up from wet or dusty rides. What I love most about it is how quick the process is. I usually give the chain a few sprays, let it sit for a minute or two, then run the chain through a brush or chain cleaning tool. After rinsing with water or wiping it down with a cloth, the chain is left clean, degreased, and ready to re-lube. No residue, no sticky film — just clean, bare metal. It really takes the hassle out of what can otherwise be a fiddly job. The scent is surprisingly pleasant too — not that horrible chemical stink you sometimes get with degreasers. It smells fresh, which is a nice bonus if you’re using it indoors or in a garage. The can lasts well too. A little goes a long way — I’ve cleaned multiple chains already and there’s still plenty left. I tend to use it every few weeks, or more often during the winter months when the roads are grittier. Another bonus is that it’s safe on metal, plastic, rubber and carbon fibre — so you don’t have to worry about damaging your bike frame or components. I’ve used it near my jockey wheels and derailleur without any issues. One small thing to be aware of — it’s best to avoid using it in very enclosed spaces without ventilation, as with any aerosol. A quick open garage door or bit of airflow does the trick though. All in all, Muc-Off’s Chain Cleaner is an excellent addition to any cyclist’s cleaning kit. It makes a tedious job fast and easy, and the results are always impressive. If you want to prolong your drivetrain’s life, improve shifting, and reduce wear on your components, this is a must-have. This is a miracle product. I rarely give great reviews for anything. However in this instance it is justified. Just sprayed on and the dirt dis-integrated before my eyes. I have never had a cleaning product this good. Normally the drive train is the hardest part of the bike to clean; not any more. The only criticism is that a can only lasts for 2-4 cleans. Still worth it as it saves half an hour of elbow grease. Suggest using a microfibre cloth to get the tiny bits of dirt that remain.

This stuff is pretty incredible.. spray it on and the dirt just kind of melts off the chain. I gave the chain a good dousing in this stuff, took a chain brush to it, followed it up with another scoosh of this stuff and then pressure-washed it off the chain. The chain looked almost like new afterwards. Oddly enough, it has quite a nice "fresh" smell to it (and not a harsh chemical smell like other degreasing type cleaners I've used before). But most importantly it does seem to do a good job of getting grit and grime off the chain. My only criticism was the spray nozzle seemed to leak a bit over my hands whilst spraying.

I was dubious about buying this product, as generally this brand seems over priced, however you get what you pay for. My chainset & both derailleurs were thick with black oil, grime & debris. I had never cleaned this chain & had regularly applied wetlube throughout winter. I sprayed on half a can, agitated the parts with an old toothbrush & then used the second half of the can. The oil & dirt just dripped right off! Great stuff. I then sprayed it clean with the hosepipe & left it to dry. I used a dry cloth to wipe any moisture away before applying dry lube. All in all, a brilliant, time saving, effective product. My only disappointment would be that I didn't buy 2 cans. My chain was really dirty so could have probably used 2 cans.

Ce produit enlève la graisse et les saletés mieux que n’importe quel autre produit. Après l’avoir utilisé sur la chaîne, préalablement nettoyé avec un autre dégraissant, ce nettoyant a réussi à TOUT faire disparaître jusqu’à que la chaîne soit comme neuve.. IMPRESSIONNANT !

Allerdings überzeugt die Qualität des Produkts und die gebotene Leistung, was den Preis durchaus rechtfertigen kann. Zusammenfassend ist der Muc-Off Chain Cleaner MUC950 ein Must-Have-Produkt für jeden Fahrradenthusiasten, der Wert auf eine gründliche und schonende Kettenreinigung legt.
