Distilled seems to apply to the process of making the vinegar. I have used it to clean a dirty toilet by covering the affected area and leaving it for a couple of hours. Then it was clean! Another toilet I did the same and had to gently rub the area and the dirty stain all came off. No hard work!

Does this have a strong smell?

Not very strong, weaker than brown malt vinegar, but it does smell vinegar

Is it suitable for pouring down the kitchen sink to keep the pipes clear?

Yes it’s perfectly safe I use it along with soda crystals

Can I use it to clean my Iron?

Yes, of course you can! It's ideal to descale all electrical applIances that use water such as irons, kettles, dishwashers and washing macines etc. Use a ratio of 2:1 water/vinegar solution. I have stopped using fabric conditioner in my laundry and use the above ratio in every wash. My washing macine is sparkling without any greasy build-up or calcium deposits and my laundry is soft (it removes soapy residue from the fibres leaving the clothes soft without nasty chemicals) AND NO SMELL!!!
