In my truck, it was right in front of the Shifter and it was often hit while shifting into 5th. This solved the issue with a smaller profile and 2 USB outlets which were super nice. I had a cut out for a second power spot already so I did not need to cut a hole to fit the new plug. All in all, it only took about 15 minutes to take apart the dash and add this in. I really like the readout of how much power it is receiving I know it is probably not perfect but I do like that I can confirm there is power and how much there is. There are slide on connectors in the bag but no wires. If I had a suggestion to give it would be to include some wires and taps to attach to other wirings in the car, but if you are replacing something I guess you wouldn't need it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It’ll probably work as a replacement for most stock car power plugs. *by A***M on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on May 28, 2019* I love this item! I used it to replace the antiquated “power plug” (cigarette lighter socket) in my 2010 Mini Cooper S Clubman. It fit perfectly and now I have two extra USB ports instead of an ugly plug. The volt meter display is actually useful and shows me when something is drawing a lot of energy from my battery.To install this did require a little bit of tooling. I pulled out the stock power plug and found it’s wire connection plugs. This new connector didn’t fit precisely. But it was close enough that a pair of pliers was all I needed to adjust the male connector to fit.It’s not just for boats! So, I cut a hole, ran some wire, and installed these. I like the look and functionality of these charging sockets, and the light it gives off is nice if I'm on the water at night and need to find it. However, since power is king on the water, the fact these draw (although very little I'm sure) power all the time because of the light up feature, I had to install a toggle on/off switch so I could not lose that little bit of power.
