Review: Does Nothing - I bought this to extend the range of my emergency alert radio and it does nothing. I could not get the local weather station and emergency alerts with just the cheap antenna that came with the radio. I thought if I got something like this it would pull it in for me. I placed it in the window so there is no interference and still nothing. I can't say it's the fault of the antenna, but my old radio (which died on me) got the alerts and everything else.

I bought this to extend the range of my emergency alert radio and it does nothing. I could not get the local weather station and emergency alerts with just the cheap antenna that came with the radio. I thought if I got something like this it would pull it in for me. I placed it in the window so there is no interference and still nothing. I can't say it's the fault of the antenna, but my old radio (which died on me) got the alerts and everything else.

I have this product before and it has done it job. I use it on midland brand weather radios in a tough terrain environment. Unless the antenna is positioned perfectly in tough terrain will it pick up the signal. In a high apartment it works well. But in little to no signal environment the antenna increases the gain some what. Conclusion: if you are in an area where the signal is noisy or hard to hear this antenna will improve that signal. If you live in an area with poor to no signal, this product is not for you. Buy a large antenna to mount outside, and run the cable inside for your weather radio.
