I have spent time and money trying popular brands for root coloring to cover the plethora of gray baby hair growth I have. Most brands did not adhere to the gray hairs at all, other gave them a brown color instead. Well darn...I have been waisting my time and money...this Madison Reed toor cover kit is AMAZING!!! In only 10 minutes covered my baby gray hairs. The fact that the box comes with 2 applications is a plus for me. I found my new hair coloring brand.

After trying many other hair and root touch up colors, Madison Reed is by far the best. It lasts longer. It is gentle and doesn't make my hair fall out. The color is rich and there is no awful ammonia or sodium hydroxide smell at all.

I have been using this dye for awhile because it was one of the few I am not allergic to. However, I don't know if they switched formulas because the last time I dyed my hair, my scalp became very irritated and my hair very brittle. It has started to fall out in clumps and the color lasts maybe two weeks if you're lucky. It will wash out afterwards! Do not use this product!

Followed instructions exactly. Good coverage and I left it on a few mins longer than recommended but the color was gone in less than 2 weeks.I have black hair and this was the first time dying it in 15 years.

Madison Reed claims to be free from lots of harsh chemicals. However, I have noticed some hair thinning after using their products for a few years. I did some research and they do have substitute chemicals in their products that concern me a bit. The color is great however. It is very easy to use and will absolutely cover your greys.

I bought this because the amazon product description and title clearly spelled out that it was permanent. It is not. Nowhere on the actual box does it say permanent. It washes out within 2 weeks or so, which is annoying. Would not have bought this had I known it was only semi-permanent. (will try their full hair color product, which on their website is listed as permanent). knocked off a star for false advertising, but otherwise it's a good product and does leave hair shiny, unlike other hair dyes with ammonia and hydrogen peroxide, which leave it flat and dull looking.
