CAP Barbell 47-Inch Olympic EZ Curl Bar for 2-Inch Weight Plates | Multiple Options

I’ve had this CAP 47” EZ curl bar for years and it’s still going strong. No rust, no warping, no issues—just a solid piece of equipment that holds up to regular use. For the price, it’s basically unbeatable. You really don’t need to drop triple digits on a premium brand unless you’re outfitting a commercial gym (which I’m definitely not—I just lift in my garage like a normal person). Knurling is decent, sleeves spin well enough, and it fits Olympic plates just fine. I use it for curls, skull crushers, upright rows, and it hasn’t let me down once. Bottom line: it does exactly what you need it to do, for a fraction of the cost of the “fancy” options. If you’re building out a home gym on a budget, this should be one of your first picks.

Got this bar right before Christmas as a present to myself. No rush issues or defects on my end, so I think it’s just a gamble for those that have had reported those issues. The ball bearings in the bar make lifts easier and it has held weight just fine.

Been using for a few months now and the bar and grips feel comfortable to me.. bearings have started squeaking on the way up, but nothing a little lube wont handle..

It includes clips, which are fine, but I personally prefer the quick spring-loaded style since they’re faster to take on and off. For the price of this curl bar, it was a no-brainer. I had several different curl bars, and this one was made no different than the others but the price is what sold me.

I have been using this bar for about two years now with absolutely no issues. I have used many curl bars, and none have compared to the feel I get from using this one. The thickness of the handle is perfect. I consider myself to have slightly above average sized hands for a male, so if you have very large hands, this will feel uncomfortable. The grip is perfect for me, it is pretty thin, which puts less focus on your grip. The texture is just rough enough to allow for a good grip, while not being intense enough to form calluses. The lighter weight allows for a more compact, maneuverable bar, very great for exercises like overhead triceps extensions where a larger bar would make it uncomfortable. The bar however is wide enough where the weight plates wont hit you if you try to do curls, but if you are a larger person, you may want to consider a wider bar. I personally prefer this bar over more expensive "premium" EZ bars. You will definitely have to change the locking mechanism to a spring or clasp weight lock, as the provided screw locks are not the most reliable, and damaging to the paint. The bar has a weight capacity of 200 Pounds or ~90kg, which is more than enough for even advanced lifters. I have loaded 145 Pounds, and the bar felt very durable and reliable at that weight.
