I upgraded my 22.5 one touch with the standard ash tray to the ash catcher because I was tired of the embers blowing out of it. It should snap in at the base where the aluminum legs join the bowl of the grill. At least that's how mine attached to the older model **Q: Will this fit the weber master touch grill?** A: Fits any Weber 22.5" kettle. I upgraded my standard kettle with this. **Q: Does this also fit the 26.75" gold one touch?** A: Yes per the weber web site this fits both the 22.5 and the 26.75 My 26.75 had the old style ash catcher and this new style fit it perfectly **Q: How do I find the year and model number?** A: The year and model number were worn off the grill. I called Weber support and sent a picture of the grill. He then informed me of the model and told me the part number to purchase. If so, this is an upgrade you need if you have the base model. I didn't like that ashes would float around with the basic trey attempting to catch ashes. So easy to install and works perfectly.
