Hal Leonard Astor Piazzolla for Solo Classical Guitar

An unbelievable brilliant series of transcriptions for solo classical guitar. The downloadable recordings (code included) by the arranger Celil Rafik Kaya add the final exquisite touch. In addition to some well known works - a glorious 'adios nonino', a poignant 'oblivion', a fabulous 'libertango'- there is much to sink your guitarristic teeth into. By no means easy to play, but more than worth any effort. Thanks to Celil Rafik Kaya for enriching our guitar world immensely.

Excellent arrangements.

I was blown away by the perfect arrangements in this book. If you are looking for repertoire and/or challenging pieces that are both beautiful and a joy to play, you need this. Celil Refik Kaya shows why he is world-class with these finally crafted arrangements. I got this in the mail yesterday and it will be the focus of my attention for the next year or more as I seek to absorb/learn this. If you are not familiar with Astor Piazzolla and his music, I have not found a better book of arrangements. Hal Leonard provides online audio of all of these tracks after you purchase, which allows you to hear Kaya play with perfection his transcriptions.

Fantastic arrangements of some of the most beautiful pieces by Piazzolla.

I ordered this because of the pieces I would like to work on, and because I know Mr. Kaya from the GFA. It's well printed and the cover artwork is very nice. My gripe is that the tab staffs are mixed in with the music staffs, so it takes a lot more page turning to read through the pieces. I would prefer for the tablature version be on its own pages. Besides, if you can play, or attempt to play the music of Piazzolla, you wouldn't need tablature in the first place. Thanks.
