Great little SBC and supper easy to setup. I'm using it for a digital dashboard and it works great

I set this up for a homeassitant setup for my solar system. Thr unit is well made and with the addition of a case does the job. I'm overall impressed with Khadas both for price amd setup as the built in software leads tou through setup. My only note and a reduction of two point is to point out in my opinion this type of unit is not suitable for heavy use, my own syst3m pulls data regularly and is always on collecting data from the system for the houshold systems. After a year of use the built in memory was at 79% of its lifetime recomended use. So for smallninstallas or non intensive use this is ideal if a complex data system buy a mini pc.

Seems a bit underpowered. Tried it for Kodi YouTube and suffered some frame stutter. At time of writing no Vulkan support. Works well in headless modes like pi-hole or camera monitor.

Since this is a newish device and I am aware that Khadas continually improve the firmware The below are my findings Ease of use : OOWOW , it works Here can only comment on the Ubuntu desktop For a beginner default apps work fine Advanced info . Installing certain apps . Some fail to work as expected : of note if gl based Fallback use SNAP Again some fail, esp on open file or save file . use “ snap run “ app A search reveals backends are required, esp in the xdg arena Of note search synaptic xdg-desktop-portal + the gtk version Nearly gave up on this device . Not now

Worked straight out of the box. An excellent little singe board computer. Perhaps a replacement for a Raspberry Pi in certain applications . Tried it with Android and Ubuntu.

I bought this in 2022 and it is an awesome SBC for lightweight applications like pinhole, jellyfin or desktop. It's better for media playback with a small projector and uses 5v 480ma. It sips power while connected to sound bars and gamepads via Bluetooth. WiFi is quick and I can remote play with the Xbox with Android. No loss of frames in 1080p with YouTube.

It came with already arndroid preinstalled on it. And it is not possible to flash another os on to it. It is bad what I check it so late. As it is possible only boot ubuntu 3 times pressing button all the time. Dissapointed.

Lo sto usando con Home Assistant, ottimamente funzionante e stabile pur rimanendo acceso 24h/24. In caso di bisogno, assistenza ottima, risponde nel giro di poche ore in italiano.

Good enough for Volumio

Sono un sistemista Linux e ho testato la VIM1 con Ubuntu 18.04 installato server sulla emmc interna e con Debian 10 server installato su una SD card e poi messo sulla emmc interna. Debbo dire i firmware disponibili sono entrambi pieni di bugs, i due led InfraRed presenti sulla VIM1 sono inutili perche' non funzionano con lirc, triggerhappy non funziona, madplay non funziona su ubuntu 18.04 e funziona male su debian 10, la procedura di cancellazione della emmc per poter ripristinate il sistema e' assurda, il wifi e' lentissimo, la shell si blocca ogni tot secondi, la documentazione presente in rete e' scarsa e frammentaria.

Petit SBC sympa, compatible Batocera. Je l'utilise tous les jours. Seul regret : sa faible capacité de stockage

En ces temps de pénurie sur les ordinateurs monocarte (ou aux prix stratosphériques!) le Khadas Vim1 qui est l'entrée de gamme permet de faire tourner des projets sous linux (Armbian). Certes l'installation n'est pas aussi facile que sur le concurrent à la framboise, il faut d'abord flasher une carte micro sd et ensuite installer sur le emmc interne de 8 Gb (un peu juste). Une fois fait, le petit ordinateur s'en sort plutôt bien avec ses 2 Gb de Ram et un processeur equivalent à celui d'un Rpi 3B+.
