The Skeg straightened us out
Actually worked exactly as described. I would recommend to anyone that has a skeg-less Tahiti kayak Nearly impossible to go in a straight line without the skeg

Helped so much!
We've took our inflatable Sevylor kayak out for an entire season before buying this skeg. Since adding the skeg this summer, we've enjoyed our kayak so much more. It's easier to paddle in a straight line, plus we no longer spin in a circle if we stop paddling. --It was definitely worth the money!

It works.
This would get five stars if it was easier to attach, but it's a bit cumbersome and almost requires four hands. It did straighten me out, though. And it's rugged enough to last a long time.

A must-have
This product fit into the place provided on my Sevylor inflatable kayak and made a night-and-day difference. Whereas previously the kayak was difficult to impossible to control, it now wants to go in a straight line. It's awesome!

Love it
Purchased a used one and I have used it a few times in a lake over the last few years. It's been very durable and I love it's flexibility - I can tie it with a rope to the top of a Civic or store it in the trunk. I have used it without the skeg and have found it to be fine. At the lake, I have been asked many times where did I get it from.

Not sure what to think of the skeg's usefulness...
I bought this skeg, along with the Sevylor Tahiti inflatable 2 people kayak, mainly because of all the positive reviews of people saying that it is a must-have. So the wife and I get to the lake ready to take off and where is the skeg? In the kitchen table, just where I left it. Dooh! I was not about to drive back home so we gave the skeg-less kayak a try. It is true what everyone has been saying; the darn thing was going everywhere but straight. Neither my wife nor me had ever been in a kayak so it was like and episode of Seinfeld with us telling each other what to do and the boat doing the totally opposite of what we predicted. Needless to say, we yelled at each other for a while and ended up in a huge water fight with the paddles. I lost, but only because I was in the front and could not reach to get to her without feeling like the kayak would tip over. After awhile we got the hang of it and learn to anticipate when the kayak was about to start spinning. We were almost moving in a straight line toward our intended destination on the lake, but it was more like sliding left, sliding right, sort of like ice skating on a kayak. That day it was 95+F so it felt great being cool in the lake. We had a blast the whole four hours we were there. Well, maybe only the final two or three. The next day, the first thing I packed was the skeg. We gave it a try but did not really noticed any improvement. Maybe it was because we learned the previous day how to synchronize our strokes? I only inserted the skeg below the splash guard. It flaps around quite a bit. It seems that the slightest amount of pressure on either side makes it flap left or right. The skeg has a sharp pointy thing that it seems should go into a loop in the kayak where a rope holding the splash shield is tied. I tried to put the pointy thing through the loop but it seemed like it may puncture the kayak, so I didn't. The only instructions of how to attach the skeg to the kayak is a picture, and I think it shows that the pointy end should not go through the loop on the kayak, but am not too certain. They certainly could be a bit clearer. If I could do it all over, I probably buy the kayak first, and after seeing that we did not have any problems going in a particular direction, forget about the skeg. It is our first kayak ever, inflatable or had-shell, so I do not discount that our ignorance is the culprit.

LOVE IT
Got as a Christmas present and took it to our local pool to try it out. It was great. The kids love it and we can't wait to get on the lake with it this summer.

Advanced inflatable guidance system.
Not to much to say, but this low cost item will help you to maintain a straight and steady course in your sevylor Tahiti. Using this item plus a double bladed paddle I have no difficulty in keeping my Tahiti straight and true.

I was worried about how easy this would be to install based on some reviews but it was a piece of cake. With regard to it’s effectiveness, I couldn’t be happier, we have previously never managed to take the kayak out without having several incidents of it turning/ drifting in the river. First trip with this attached and we did our longest journey to date with no incidents of turning/ drifting at all. It has made a huge and positive difference to kayaking. If you are struggling without one, this will be the best £25 you spend!

Impecable servicio de Amazon. Ha llegado antes de lo previsto. Aún no la hemos probado pero es robusta y necesaria para el kayak Riviera.

After owning a Tahiti for more than 20 years and getting little use out of it, this skeg makes a hug difference. Kayak paddles much straighter and is far more pleasant to use. My Tahiti is fairly old so I have to fold down a bit of the boat for it to fit, but once everything is inflated the fit is tight, straight and stable. Has reasonable depth in the water when I'm in the kayak. A little pricey but I'm happy with the purchase.
