I thought it was going to be another cheapy junk set like I had just returned from Harbor Freight that I could not even tap and already tapped hole in ABS plastic. what garbage they have. This set is really nice and all the size's are etched into each piece to you know what size you are looking for. Not like the other company that it wiped right off and most did not have them etched. If you don't know what the size is, then what good are they. They were all organized nicely. Worked quickly and perfectly on ABS plastic. Thanks so much. 😍😍

I bought this set to re-tap some large canopy tent connectors. This set easily accomplished the mission. I was able to do about 35 re-taps and screwed in some 5/16 eye bolts with no issues. The taps and wrench were durable and it came in a decent case to hold the taps, dies and wrench. For the price, its really tough to beat and it did what it was made or set out to do. Highly recommended. Great value!!

However I was so impressed by performance of the EFFICERE 40-Piece Tap and Die Set - SAE Inch Sizes | Essential Threading Tool with Storage Case that made write this review for the benefit of others who struggled like me to find a tap and die that actually works. I did a lot of poking and reading reviews before I settled with 60 pieces set from Orion https://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08N51TFVG?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title I received that set and tried to use it on Boltmaster 1/4 in. Dia. x 36 in. L Steel Unthreaded Rod that I purchased from ACE. It couldn’t even make a dent on it, let a lone threading the rod. I sent it back write away and thought to try the cheaper one the SAE only as I don’t need the metric sizes. My decision in buying the EFFICERE set was solely based on the fact that it is manufactured from Industrial grade GCr15 bearing steel construction versus the carbon steel that the ORION set was made off. I took a gamble on that but boy I was right and luck. I only tried one die so far and boy I was surprised. It worked flawlessly and beautifully as it enabled me to make four threads in few minutes. It cut through my rod material like a knife cutting through melted butter. I will definitely recommend it and I will purchase the metric one if I ever run into need for it. Great product.

After looking at this tap and die set carefully. It seems that it is made with High Quality I did have my doubts, the machine work and how sharp both the die's and tap's are very well made. So if you want a great set of tap and die metric set look no further, High recommended.

Nice kit that got me out of a jam

Yet another time I was influenced by all the positive reviews and left disappointed. I’m pretty certain there’s a glitch in the review matrix here. The cases are decent, the taps I’ve used so far have all been good but I’ve been going very easy on them as I don’t want them to snap. Every single die I have used cut decent but the size was way off, to the point that they are worthless. Not one of the standard dies will even chase brand new bolts correctly so you can’t even just clean threads with them. The small compression tap holder is decent, the larger adjustable tap holder works but comes loose very easily and must be tightened repeatedly while cutting a thread. The die holder works but is very sloppy as the dies fit loosely.

These are, in my opinion, fine for DIY projects. Not for professional use. I put some Loc-Tite on the tap handle because it would unscrew during use. Funny that a Tap/Die set would have loose threads holding the handle on... Anyway, for the price and to have a set on hand, I don't think you could do much better.

I recently purchased this product and was extremely disappointed with the quality of the product. The taps and dies didn't work on a soft metal even at the first attempt, making it difficult to create threads, and several of them broke while in use. Overall, I would not recommend this product to anyone and I am extremely disappointed with my purchase.
