A well engineered and easy to use tripod head at a great price.
I have other NEEWER products and have always found them to be excellent. This continues that experience. The head is easy to use and feels well-engineered with a smooth action and easy-to-use controls. The fact that the shoe itself can be detatched and fitted directly to the camera is a big plus that is not always a reality of tripod heads. It works well, if perhaps not quite so instant as those that lock in the shoe with an over-cam lever action, but at this price point I would not expect that. To put that in perspective I once sold my well-used example of such a head from a famous manufacturer for more than this head cost brand new. This is super value for money. The mounting is stable and has no play, with excellent grip. It is an easy five out of five!

Precision and Stability in a Compact Design
The NEEWER Low Profile Ball Head has become an indispensable addition to my camera gear, offering a perfect blend of precision and stability in a sleek and compact design. The low center of gravity is a standout feature, providing a stable foundation for my camera setup. This is particularly crucial when shooting in challenging conditions or requiring precise framing. The 36mm metal panorama tripod head offers smooth and controlled movements, allowing for seamless adjustments to capture the perfect angle. Compatibility with the Arca 1/4 Inch Quick Release Plate adds versatility to the ball head. The quick release mechanism is not only convenient but also secure, ensuring a swift and reliable attachment and detachment of my camera. The compatibility with the Arca system is a testament to NEEWERโs commitment to catering to the needs of photographers using various accessories. The build quality is commendable, with the sturdy metal construction instilling confidence in the ball headโs durability. Despite its robust build, the low-profile design adds a touch of elegance, making it an aesthetically pleasing addition to my tripod setup. Setting up the NEEWER Low Profile Ball Head is a breeze, thanks to the user-friendly controls and precise adjustments. It enhances the overall shooting experience, allowing me to focus on my composition without worrying about the stability of my camera. In conclusion, the NEEWER Low Profile Ball Head is a fantastic investment for photographers seeking a reliable, compact, and versatile solution. Its low center of gravity, compatibility with Arca plates, and solid construction make it a top-notch choice for both amateurs and professionals. NEEWER continues to impress with this precision-engineered ball head!

A Superb Ball Head For APSC and Micro 4/3 Photographers
*Low Profile Ball Head* I was looking for a suitable mount to attach my Fujifilm X-T2 camera to a monopod, and this ball head has proved ideal. It's simple, lightweight and locks solidly. Unusually, both the head rotation and ball angle are clamped with the same bolt, and that was a big attraction to me, in my quest for simplicity and lightness. Quality of construction is excellent, and the only plastic I can see is the ball socket liner, as I would expect. The friction can be finely adjusted from rock solid to smooth movement whilst retaining support, and this is important in avoiding equipment damage. Not all ball heads work this smoothly, and there's certainly a feeling of quality about this head. A large part of the attraction for me is the Arca Swiss compatible clamp, which will secure a standard 37mm wide plate. I use my camera with an additional hand grip attached, and the base of that is Arca Swiss compatible, so in my case I can mount my X-T2 directly to the ball head, which is very handy. For everyone else, the ball head comes supplied with a small plate that can be attached to your camera. Most importantly, I trust this ball head with my expensive equipment. For my ASPC Fuji camera it's perfect, and definitely solid enough for tele zooms up to 300mm. Whilst best suited for lighter cameras I'd also rate the ball head for full frame too, provided your lenses are light weight. For those really long pro or old school metal body lenses though - especially at full frame - I'd probably opt for a chunkier ball head than this one. But I shoot mainly with a mirrorless Fuji camera because I enjoy the compactness of the system, and the amazing image quality. So for me, this ball head is absolutely perfect, and - unusually for me - I really can't think of how it might be improved on. High praise then, and full five stars. Purchased at just under twenty pounds, and strongly recommended.

Good ball head, let down a little by ball head column length
I bought this to replace a Manfrotto ball head that I had been using for close to 10 years, nothing wrong with the ball head, just I wanted to switch to Arca Swiss plates, as well as having the rotating base for panoramic shots. This ball head is well built and attached to my tripod with no issues. Range of movement is overall good, however due to the shortness of the central "column" it is not very easy to have your camera in landscape orientation and then rotate the ball head so that the camera is vertical. This is mainly due to the dials on the ball head, they get in the way, making having the ball head column horizontal tricky. This isn't an issue if you have a L bracket on your camera, however it is something to note otherwise. I have two camera bodies, one with an L bracket, the other just using the base plate from this ball head. In real world use the ball head is nice to use, if slightly cramped, having 3 dials on it I am still choosing the wrong one by feel, but that will just take getting used to and muscle memory. I used it for 2 weeks in Iceland in all sorts of weather (generally gales, rainy and overcast) and it held up well. It took the weight of a D800 and Tamron 15-30mm with no issue, and that lens is close to 1kg. I also used it with a 100-400mm Tamron and no issues there either with drift or slip when locked. Photos added, excuse the quality, taking phone photos with gloves on in windy dark conditions never helps! (If you are wondering, I have the ball head on a tripod levelling base). Overall, good value for money, it's quite surprising how compact it is, and the quality you get at this price point, 10 years ago you'd not get this for less than ยฃ100. For best use I recommend an L bracket to avoid this issue I had.

Comparable with tripod top plate
Really nice item, had to return as it's not fully compatible with my tripod and monopod? "Be aware" When rotated on the side axis, it hit my tripod top plate and you couldn't pan up or down very far.

Stability and Security Perfect
So impressed with the quality of this GM41. Every single detail seems to have been thought through. Stability and security are excellent. I own a lot of Smallrig stuff and Ulanzi can make some decent bits too, but this Neewer is really very impressive. Purchased with a Nikon Z8 and 70-200mm in mind, I will have no hesitation in trusting this ballhead. with that much weight and value.

Perfect in Every Way
EXACTLY what I was looking for in a tripod head. I was in the market for a reliable replacement head after an old head failed me. I mainly use my tripod for aviation night shoots with long exposures, so a tight ball was a requirement. Fits the bill perfectly. Design is really thought out, with a spirit level allowing easy levelling. Arca Swiss plate being included is also very nice. Ball is tight and easily lockable. Definitely isn't going anywhere. Perfect for photographers looking for a heavy capable, reliable rig that can also guarantee no movement for long exposures.

Great
Awesome ball head for the price. Got this for a gun actually and I'm very surprised at how smooth and positive all the connections are, easy to use and decent quality all around for the price. My set up weighs in at around 7kg with scope bipod and forend weights not perfectly centered on the arca either (yet) so the leverage to the rear is noticeable but the ball head has no trouble clamping up and holding even at minimal twist on the clamp handle. Can see it holding most camera rigs with ease if used right. If I needed another I would definitely buy again.
