Fremo Evo Plus Battery Base for Amazon Echo Dot 2nd Generation (Black)

Love this battery base. I have an exercise bike in the garage and I like listening to music. This is great - no need for plugs. I can move it around the house and outside on the patio without worrying about needing a plug nearby. Charge lasts for at least 10 uses. Easy to charge and easy to set up. Glad I finally found it.

Defective in less than 2 months. Since the return policy is 30 days, I'm stuck with what appears to be a hockey puck or a paperweight. On a good side, it was very well designed. The battery lasted as mentioned in the product detail, pricing was palatable, and it was a great product when it was working. For whatever reason, this product just stopped working without any dramatic event. I would like to give this product 5 stars, but due to its malfunction in such a short time, I am reconsidering my opinion on the quality of this product. It was good while it lasted. UPDATE: We found out the problem was a bad connector and once I repaired that, it has been working great again ever since! Star rating updated.

This gives my older Echo Dots some much needed new life. Now I can simply take the Dot straight out of the kitchen and onto the patio or to the garage to listen to my tunes or podcasts without needing to find an outlet to plug into. I highly recommend this for folks that still have the old Dot.

My Alexa skips music and notifications when it is connected to the battery base. Battery base loses power fairly quick.

I liked the battery base, it works well. I didn't like the fact the blue power button on the battery base appeared to activate, or recharge, and would illuminate periodically. Which potentially activates Alexa, to record, but I will never know as I've had different answers. It only did this at night, so eventually I just unplugged the Dot from the base. Does the battery base make the Dot essentially always on? I am not paranoid about Alexa and we enjoy our devices; but I don't want a battery device that appears to activate the microphone when we think we have 'privacy'. I don't know the technicalities, but nobody could provide a clear answer. It is unplugged, and I will use it again once I know. Great product and battery life was superb, otherwise.

Purchased July 11th, 2023 So far, I've had no problems with it. It has a nice rubber bottom ring to keep it from sliding. The connector piece is quite stable & it keeps my echo dot charged. I carry it around the house all the time & in the bathroom while I shower. I'm SO glad I bought this, worth the price for sure!

The EVO battery base lasted 4 years then stopped powering the Echo Dot. It needed to have its connector to the Dot cleaned with contact cleaner, before it would continue work again.

AMAZING little gadget that is just what I needed! I love this thing. So many times I would be listening to something on the iHeart Radio app and I wanted to leave the room and go to another in my house. Had to unplug Alexa and move her to another room and wait for her start up again. All the while I would miss part of the broadcast. NOW I simply take Alexa with me from room to room and I don't have to turn her on and off. I have it hooked up to a nice bluetooth speaker that also operates on battery power, so now it is just so convenient to be able to take both from room to room, or even outside on the patio. I didn't know such a thing existed, but was so excited to find it that I couldn't buy it fast enough.
