Accurate and responsive.
I was looking for a sauna thermometer that would provide accurate temperature readings and respond to changes in temperature as the sauna heater cycles on and off. This thermometer is easy to read from a distance, making it easy to see if the sauna is ready by looking through a window instead of having to open the door. Accuracy wise, this thermometer is spot on. I placed the thermometer in a warm oven at 180 F along with two other thermometers traceable to National Institute of Standards and Technology standards. It read the same temperature as the calibrated standard thermometers. When I took it out of the oven it quickly cooled to room temperature. This is not a cheap toy with questionable accuracy. It is a precision instrument.

Accurate & High Quality...You Get What You Pay For
We purchased another spa thermometer which only had Celsius readings. It met its demise when it fell unceremoniously into the bucket of water (my fault). Since we had a chance for another order, I found this one. It had Fahrenheit readings which made conversion a non-issue. I will say that I like this one better. It seems to be better made and of higher quality. It hurt to pay the high price but that old saying, "you get what you pay for" came to mind. I would highly recommend this spa thermometer.

First impression: poor accuracy
My thermometer just arrived. After letting it sit overnight, providing plenty of time for it to reach thermal equilibrium with my home, I'm somewhat frustrated to see it's reading +10 degrees above the ambient temperature! I installed it in my sauna, nevertheless, but wonder if the accuracy will be better, or even worse at high temperature. I'll try to update my review after I learn more.
