D size tank online shows 20" tall. However package dimensions show less than 12". How can this be?

Will this fit an acetylene B tank?

Hello Cat, I use this backpack for size "D" oxygen cylinders. They are about 20-inches tall and fill the pack completely. I checked the size of "B" oxygen cylinders. They are about 11-inches tall so will fit. BUT you asked about acetylene tanks. Are these the same size as oxygen tanks. I hope my answer about the 20-inch tall oxygen tanks help you figure our if your acetylene tank will fit. Take a look at my review of this pack. It is good. I lengthened the straps for a more comfortable fit as I am a big guy.
