The unit is not flawless but let me rattle off the good first. The unit is fairly sensitive. The unit reacts and alarms not instantaneously, but quick enough. Its light weight and size makes placement easy peasy. It's loud. Loud enough you're gonna hear it unless you've got a really big house. Now the ehhhhhh. This is a simple unit...check before you buy. It does not connect to wifi, bluetooth, send you notifications, there is no app and other than blaring its tiny little lungs out......... if you don't hear it that's on you. It is what it is. The design of the unit has some limitations in its ability to sense water. But in its defense it will detect a serious leak that is liable to cause damage in fairly quick time. On the top of the unit is a small area with two small parallel metal strips in a recessed area. This is the drip sensor. You have to be fairly accurate where you place the unit for it to be effective in detecting a drip, especially a small one. With that said a serious drip will eventually trip the other sensors and about that....... There are 4 small metal sensors on the bottom of the unit roughly placed near the 4 corners. There are tiny little feet that hold the sensors ever so slightly off the bottom surrounded by a plastic channel that goes around the bottom near these sensors. This forces the water to at least enter and fill this channel before reaching the sensors. These clearances are so small that I can only assume it is designed this way so that the unit will not false alarm from things like condensation on a surface or moisture from a wet rag placed near the unit. But be advised a wet surface is not enough to trip the alarm on the unit. Any standing water WILL alarm the unit and it doesn't take much. With all this in mind I think the best course of action to take advantage of this unit, place a small container of any kind under any area you suspect of a drip and set the unit in that container. The same holds true for any water appliance you're trying to protect. Place the unit where escaping water will splash or pool. Understand that this all goes to earliest detection possible because that is where you can really limit damage. I really think this unit will get any leak but these measures will help you catch it as soon as possible.

Brilliant product! Water heater/AC unit previously flooded my floor a few random times. Now this wonderful little device has saved me from a lot of stress. The slightest dampness will trigger the alarm. The alarm is loud enough to hear several rooms away. I have recommended this sensor to many of my neighbors. It is also very affordable.

This thing works! I tested it out first, then placed it in a spot that is at risk of a leak (near our old washing machine that we had fixed). About a month later, this product has alerted us one morning and saved us more than its price in floor damage. We are very happy with it.

Well worth the money these are very sensitive to water. I put these under my sinks and had some condensation from the sink drop onto the detector and it went off. It is at a good volume to hear from the basement. I would recommend to have piece of mind of water leaks in your homes.

Works exactly how it's described. Comes with batteries and clear instructions to easy to set up. I purposefully chose this one to not have to have yet another wifi connected device. I tested on a damp paper towel and it went off. Very loud. I would use this somewhere you go by often enough vs in a storage closet in the basement with all the doors closed. Then you might not hear it. Nice and small for good peace of mind.

These alarms are wonderful! One of these saved us from having a flooded basement, when our water heater began leaking last summer. The puddle was very small when the alarm went off. We have about 10 of these units around the house, wherever there is the potential for water leaks. A simple device that does what it was designed to do. BTW, I replace the supplied batteries with Energizer Lithium batteries, which should last 10 years. Highly recommend!

I tested it, it does sound when water touches its sensors. Very loud alarm for my apartment, but not sure if it is loud enough if you place it in an American-style house basement. It has consistently works for my leak. Loud alarm every time, good product.

Fait très bien le travail mais n’est pas connecté au wifi ou à quoi que ce soit donc il faut être sur place pour entendre sonner. La sonnerie est très forte c’est un avantage

I held off on reviewing this as I hadn’t had a water leak yet. Our washer has leaked twice in the past year which was what prompted me to purchase this alarm. Yesterday the alarm sounded when I had a load of laundry in, and sure enough it was leaking water. I was very happy to be able to address the problem quickly without my basement flooding or the water causing any damage.
