Speck Products Presidio Clear Case for iPhone 8 Plus (Also fits 7S/7 Plus and 6S/6 Plus), Clear/Clear

I’ve had this case for right at 6 months now, so I felt it was time to do a proper review. This case will absolutely protect from drops. It has a hard outer shell with a firm yet forgiving inner layer. I’ve dropped my phone more times than I can remember, off my workbench on to concrete, in parkinglots, down stairs, dropped while skateboarding, you name it. Im rough with my stuff, yet my phone still looks brand new, screen hasn’t cracked, and functionality is perfect. Now the case itself has taken a lot of damage, but that is to be expected. It has dents and dings on the corners, and scratches on the back. But that’s exactly what the case is meant for, it absorbed the damage and protects the phone. Now the case did yellow a bit. This started after a 3 day trip to schlitterbahn where I had my *waterproof* iPhone 8+ in my pocket without any extra protection. I went down water slides, tube chutes, hot tubs, every ride they had, and even lost my phone briefly in the wave pool. (The iPhone did fine underwater btw) After that trip the inner layer of the case started yellowing, I assume from the chlorine in the pools reacting in some way, but the protection the case provides never faultered. I also keep my phone on a dash mount during my commute which is about 2 hours a day, and I’m sure the roughly 400 hours it has spent in direct sunlight played a role in the yellowing. All in all, it’s just asthetic and not a big deal in my book. Can still obviously see my red phone through the case. Lastly- the piece that goes above the charger port broke off about a week ago, which also isn’t a big deal, especially with how hard I’ve been on this case. I bought a new one to show the side by side difference in the attached pictures. The only caveat that I didn’t like at first is how slick the case is, but I got used to it quickly and is makes retrieving it from my pocket easy. All things considered, I highly recommend this case. It does exactly what it’s meant to, and I don’t even flinch anymore when my phone drops.

I'm on my second one now. After a year or so, on my last one, the color became less transparent with a little bit of a brown tint to it. It was nothing that distracted from my rose colored iPhones appearance. I needed to replace my previous one, after 2 years, because enough plastic had fallen off between the silence and volume switches that it seemed like a good time. It still protected my phone very well at that point. During the 2 years, I dropped the phone about 20 times onto concrete/asphalt and probably another 20 in the house. I'm not real cautious with my phone probably because of this case. I don't have a single scratch or dent on my phone. It offers superior protection largely for 3 big reasons: 1) the lip around the front face protrudes 2 - 3mm above the face (so the face of my phone hasn't made contact with the ground), 2) the material offers a very nice impact absorption, 3) the material stretches temporarily when the phone hits the ground with an awkward spin. I know this because sometimes the case looks a little loose and out of position after one of those spinning drops (where my second hand tried catching the phone as it fell, but just knocked it into a spin). I'll buy this cover again in 2 years.

Added photos so you can see new vs old and how it holds up over time. I got this originally in April and again in December. It’s true that the plastic resists yellowing, however, the rubbery part does start to turn brown over time. To be fair this phone has been through a lot including direct sun, chlorine, hot showers, etc. That being said, that’s the only downside to this case. The drop protection works incredibly well, I haven’t even needed a screen protector and my phone has never gotten a cracked screen. When my ring attachment broke, I couldn’t get the sticky square off but I decided it was time for a new case anyway. I bought this one again because it’s worked so well for me. And I like that it’s clear so I can stick whatever I want inside and personalize it (polaroids are perfect).

100% recommended. Since I started using iPhone's I've always used these Speck phone cases. They are VERY DURABLE (believe me, they can really take several terrible hits and still last more than 2 years). Also, this is the way I see it: If you buy an iphone and you get to choose the color, why are you gonna get a color case that will cover the colored metal back? Since this is a see through case, it will let you see and show off the real color of your iphone! WARNING: If you are cleaning your phone case on the inside DO NOT USE ALCOHOL. I had this terrible idea and I scratched the soft silicone on the inside. The alcohol literally melted the very top layer and it got terribly scratched after wiping it with a cotton ball :( Now my the case looks kinda funny, but it still does the job.

I totally didn’t think of this prior to purchasing or I would have purchased a different colored Speck Phone Case. This case is kind of difficult to get on and off of the phone. I actually haven’t been able to get it off. Which usually is fantastic. It means it’s well built and a snug fit, for better protection. Which is why I can’t be upset about it. BUT we have a cute little pug dog. She is brindle and doesn’t she’s hardly at all. But she snuggles my little kids and I a lot. And After a couple weeks I have several pug dog hairs trapped in the back of my phone case. It’s driving me crazy. If you don’t have a dog or cat that sheds, this likely will not be an issue for you. This is my third iPhone Speck case I have had (each for different phones), and I do not plan on EVER buying another brand of phone case. I have a 2 & 4 year old. Unfortunately, they are pretty tough on certain household items. They always think my phone needs to be with me, so if I leave it they bring it or throw it to me. It has been dropped well over one hundred times. My last one after two years of use finally had a small break from wear and tear just under the home button. It was an irritating spot. But it was an insanely well used case. I always recommend Speck cases to everyone I know.

This case is overall great. It’s very sturdy and good looking. Every transparent case gets yellow with time, this one takes extra long. Had it for two years, got yellow, bought the same new one. Happy again. Wouldn’t put it on rigid surfaces thought. It gets scratched sometimes. With prolonged use the rubber gets shaded at the spots where hand sits, but that will happen o any case. This one lasted for two years. More then happy.

I’ve bought 2 of these now and I will continue to buy more as needed. I have a 2 year old and I’m a passive mom so she’ll drop it, throw it and it’s still in perfect condition. I’ve had the phone almost a year and a half now without the case it looks fresh-out-the-box. With many drops and falls the hard plastic will crack at the edges and eventually break off, which happened/happens to me. I keep this case in my “save for later” for when it’s time to purchase again. My sister just got her iPhone 11 after have multiple screen accidents and I turned her on to this case. I definitely recommend this case.

I am notorious for dropping my phone. This case is awesome at protecting my phone from falls, from the tile in my bathroom to the concrete outside. I also have a screen protector on it and in combination I don't have to worry about damaging my phone. I have purchased this case a couple times, and am deciding if I am going to purchase a new one as the color changes from clear to a kind of "smoke" color and the part where the charger plugs Into the phone has broken off (normal wear and tear). Other than that the case is wonderful and provides GREAT IMPACT protection.

Il prezzo non è il massimo ma si vede subito che la qualità costruttiva è ottima, la resa una volta installata è perfetta sia da un punto di vista dell'affidabilità che estetica, gli angoli sono rinforzati come pure il Back la cui trama assorbe gli urti in caso di caduta accidentale. Speck rimane il mio punto di riferimento come prodotti di alta qualità ad un prezzo equo.
